    Congratulations vixarooni. on your aquisition.

Alliwant - Crying is good, sometimes wish I could. Will probably hit me after the funeral on Tuesday, at least I hope it will. I haven't been able to cry about anything. Which kinda sux. At least all your emotions are coming out that way.

Hugs to you Alliwant. Seems as if you've found really good way of dealing with your worries.

    Victory -- have pm'd you.

Vix - the pounds will be falling off you now. Careful you don't lose your curvy bum .

Am trying to have a snack free weekend and so far so good. And had a really lovely healthy meal last night - tuna, couscous and rocket with lie juice sprinkled over it. Will definitely be trying that again. And the george foreman is great for cooking tuna steak.
  • allIwant - really sorry to hear about your mum. Brilliant handling of the 'not resorting to food'. Do keep posting and letting us know how you/she are doing.

Sary - believe me - I nearly pu a sts this week and had to change my post before sending as I realised not telling the truth would be a slippery slope. I do just think this is a pants time of year to get motivated, if you have been on the lose weight wagon for over a year or so.
Vix - great stuff re the cross trainer. Please do some on my behalf.

Had a really bad night -came over all dizzy and fell over when I got up to go to the loo in the night. Feel totally bleugh now but at least dizzyness gone. Can't out it down to not eating enough sadly:o.

Mazza - emotions are strange things. At my friends funeral in Sept I cried for 2 hrs (having not cried before it) and couldn't stop - it's like lots of grief about all sorts of losses all came out at once.

kpc - so how much are you loving your finished kitchen?:D

Victory - yeah, but at least the boss is still away;).

Lois - well done with your dual losses and good luck for the comp.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • Hope all goes well over the weekend Alliwant, it's hard when you live so far away from your parents. You can't easily be there for them at the drop of a hat, but it doesn't mean you care any less.

Well done for taking carrot sticks, it will all be worth it in the long run.

    Can i join please.
I been trying to lose weight for a while by myself to no avail.
Also what not helped is im easily swayed and too many people till now have got away with it esp now as ive decided finally become vegetarian and stick to it no matter how much im bullied etc to eat meat and be what others want.
Also for me the sweet things and stress/comfort eating are a big problem for me and being 5ft 1 and 15 and a half stone isnt doing me on the whole any good.
    thanks everyone.

Welcome Unlucky, you're in the right place for lots of support here. There's no reason why you can't have a healthy, balanced vegetarian diet, and if you manage to lose weight too, then how can other's judge it as wrong? So long as you get your proteins, iron and selenium (which are all found in meat & fish), but can be substituted with nuts, fruit, veg and pulses. I've had family members who were vegetarian, one stayed very healthy and kept to a good weight by eating a really balanced diet, another gained lots of weight by eating lots of cheese and high fat, high sugar foods, rather than making it balanced. That can be done just as easily if you're not vegetarian too, so as ever, it's about balanced nutrition and getting exercise. Simple stuff, and I'm probably just saying what you already know.

We all find that posting on here keeps us on track, and supported if we go a bit off piste!

Alliwant - I hope you find your mum is Ok when you've visited her, and hope you feel better for having been to see her. I'm impressed with your will power, and I hope you feel proud of yourself for how you coped.

I've pulled a muscle in my back this morning, which is such a painful, but silly thing to have happened. I can't believe how much it hurts, and I'm bent like a banana because of it. I had plans to do loads more sorting out, but it'll have to wait now.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Alliwant I just want to post to say you're a real inspiration, most people would fall back on their 'crutch' such as eating, drinking or smoking, at times of such emotional difficulty, but you found a way to channel those feelings in a healthy way and thats fantastic. Keeping your mum in my prayers and hope she is on the mend soon x
