Victory - I think boredom is often to blame. I have become lazy during these winter months. Many of the things I'd like to do in the house are costly projects, and it's not something I could avoid spending £ on, so for now they have to wait.

I've been doing deals with myself, so if I do the washing, hoovering, dusting, etc. then I get to stop afterwards and have a cuppa and banana. I eat breakfast a bit later than normal, because it seems to act as a trigger for me to just want to graze for the day. I have a curfew after the evening meal at 6pm, so I don't eat again until about 10am the next day.

Today I did get up and do something, and found it rewarding to feel I'm doing something other than sitting on my bum. I plan to do the same tomorrow.

Food has been better today too:
    B - shredded wheat
L - Ham & cucumber wholemeal roll, rhubarb yogurt
D - Quorn grill, falafel (yum) and baked potato with mixed veg.

I have got a bit of a tummy bug this evening, so glad I've eaten better today. Suffice to say I'm like the under 5's and not trusting a trump!

Fi - thanks for the suitable bum kicking smiley. I definitely do need it, and am responding appropriately.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Fred you didn't put me on a sts please can you add it for next week? i hope i'll have a loss to go with it.

Sorry Katie - have amended the chart ready for next week.
  • cheers fred!

builders are coming to fit skirting boards today - then their work is officially fininshed!

glad to hear you are getting motivated sary. I tried - but was ambushed by a pack of cookies last night. I did have a kind of healthy tea - i made nigella's pea and avocado dip because a friend was coming round bt in the end she didn't - so i had the dip with sunflower seed ryebread for my tea. Really enjoyed it actually, and it was dead esy. I'm not sure how lw it is though - there's no oil, but avocados are haigh in fat aren't they?

Yes avocados are high in fat but the good fats, I have a few slices here and there but not the whole one and for some reason hate the dips made with mushed up avocados, my mum used to plaster it on her face:rotfl:

Booked to go to Spain, wanted to save money so did not book for so many bags, going in the middle of the night, horrendous times, got the flat of the year before and paid visa instead of mastercard which was another £15.04:eek: every little helps, wanted to save even more by staying with my mum but as we all know that would not work, every single family is going over that at one stage or another, guilt is kicking in for them as she is 84 and there with her partner who is extremely ill so everyone is thinking must do it this year, even my brothers ex wife is going:D

That will keep me motivated to go with the same weight I was last time because my spanish friends are obsessed with it, they go on and on about the weight (presumably because they only seem me yearly) spanish people do not generally diet and worship their food it is more family orientated there and they cannot understand what I eat or even why (obvious weight loss) they seem to think I am not eating properly and keep trying to feed me up at every opportunity:rotfl:

gs you work with children, have they changed their homework as they have done for the youngest to the coloured thinking hats? It is causing a lot of problems in this house because it is very difficult and we don't really know what they are after, my little one is being reviewed for speech/reading/writing as he has problems in those areas and along comes the thinking hats homework which is near impossible for him....

my weight amazes me sometimes, i have good weightwatchers digital scales and yesterday i weighed myself and i was 9st 5 pounds, this morning im 9 stones 6 and a half pounds. How can this happen? i didnt go over 2000 calories and i walked a mile on the treadmill. jem

Completely normal, as Sary says! :) You eat different things at different times each day, so your body is at different stages in the digestion process etc. Even if you're consuming the same amount of calories daily, the various types of food content will be 'distributed' at different rates in the body.

You don't expend exactly the same amount of energy each day as we always have different things to do, then there's water retention, muscle regeneration, bone density changes, totm (if female), and no doubt loads of other variables too!

Weighing each day is too frequent to tell whether you are losing weight or not. There's no harm in doing it for a little while though just so you can see how normal it is to have these fluctuations, and that a gain one day or even a few days a week doesn't always mean you are putting on weight overall :)
  • It is amazing how you can be up on cloud 9 one minute and down the next...... why does life have to be like that??? I was really happy and pleased with my self after the good start to my new life to then get a phone call to say my mum was in hospital. Trouble is she lives 200 miles away so there is not a lot I could do but worry!! There goes my downfall I know for a fact I am a worry eater.

Anyway the best way I found to cope was to get in my car drive the 20 miles to the coast and stomped my way up the beach for over 2hrs. 7 miles later with aimless rubbish playing on my MP3 player I felt a lot calmer with all the chocolate and biscuits in the house still untouched.

But with the news that my mum has had a suspected heart attack I have even more need to push on with my weight loss as I don't want to end up having one of those myself

So I will be off to visit her over the weekend and will do my best to take carrot sticks with me and not eat rubbish as I don't want to undo what I have already accomplished :)

Sorry rant over but feel better for typing that :(
