its good! it folds up nicely, quite heavy but its a good peice of kit. I actually enjoy going on it but i wish i could work out if i can build up the resistance on it.

I looked up what bits of the body it works out - the thighs and bum. Just where i need it! Although i feel alot of the results on my torso, the arms and the back!

So are they dismissing you or what? is it compulsory that you do these courses? as it part of your t&c's when you joined? I just don't get it, here you are recruited as one thing and they are trying to turn you into something else and putting you under pressure to do so  Are you in a union? maybe they can advise you, or if not you can get advice from ACAS or maybe the CAB. Sounds to me like not only have you been misled by them but your boss is a right g*t too, that's too much pressure for someone contracted to work 8 hours a week surely???

Sorry is I sound a bit agressive but as an employer I know that all the power is with employees these days and they can't muck you around like this.

    Okay rant over...

Thank you all very much for all the help re job, I can't believe I can't find my contract, one time I need to read it cover to cover I have been panic attack screaming and shreching all weekend to get everyone to look for it and can't find it.... So the answers to you are no they are not dismissing me, they are leaving it with me to decide, that is what OH said if the other assistant pharmacist chose not to do the NVQ and still working where does it say that I have to take them and will be dismissed if not? How come I have to take them when I was hired as a sales assistant and now have to do work as a dispensery pharmacist? How did that come about? How long is it realistically going to take to train me on a paultry 8 hours a week? No idea about a union, I know that a lady worked there for 18 years and because of the boss and lack of training support she left and went with her complaints straight to head office, by passing the supervisor and the boss. I need to find that contract, I really do.

OH suggested I wrote everything down so it says Jan 2nd 10.20am gave out wrong prescription told off until 12.30, shift finished at 1pm.
    Jan 4th shift 3 to 5 told off from 3 to 3.40.
wednesday told off immediately for 45 mins
thursday shift told off 20 mins
friday told off for 40 mins
    sat shift told off
sat 23rd jan told about dispensary/health care assistant course and it was strongly suggested by xxxx to quote 'to start looking for another job' because of the boss working alongside him in dispensary.

Obviously it has got to be writen much more professionally but that is the gist and from now on will write it all down, the supervisor told me to tell no one what my decision was, that if I told anyone she would deny it and then changed her mind and said she would stand by what she said that all she is being is honest and making it easier for me to decide.

Victory That sounds awful! I have an idea about what company you work for as I used to work for them but they recently sacked me as ive been off work on sick pay due to depression. My own fault I guess I should cope better and have struggled on with work.
I really hope things work out for you, you're right you shouldn't have to quit because of him and its not right that you could end up paying out £500 because of him!
i really hope this all works out for the better for you and that somewhere along the line your boss gets his comeuppance

IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT AT ALL;) depression is an illness, recognised even more so now because of the high profile celebrities coming out being honest and telling the way it is, depression is never ever going to be your fault, it needs help, support treatment and understanding, patience the same as any other illness, it can be over come with counselling, medicines, time, hang in there it does and will get better, seek help, don't suffer in silence, there are many people that can help you:D

    Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend....

alliwant- the way you are dealing with this is amazing, I need to take some lessons from this, keep it up and I hope all is well with your mum, I am thankful that she made it through! :T

victory- your boss sounds like not a very nice person, if you need a copy of your contract, HR should be able to provide it for you, and do definitely keep a note of everything that is going on.

vix- i really want a cross trainer now, that was nearly the only thing I went on when I used to gym as it didn't agrovate my back too much.

My weekend was not that great on the food front. I think me being good in the week, backlashed big time it started on friday evening. I was drinking galaxy hot chocolate with milk, eating crisps, chocolates, crisps again, numerous bowls of cereals, pizza bread, sweet biscuits, and a big portions of sunday dinner with onion rings, yorkshire puds, the whole works, you name it I ate it...:EasterBunand I think it was because I was at home where as usually I am out and about, so I need to put a strategy in place for next weekend, because I was eating at mad hours as well like 11pm

So...I will be going to my military fitness this evening to try and redeem myself. I don't want to gain weight on only my second week! :(

    Sorry to winge...:silenced:

Am I understanding correctly that all of these 'tellings off' are for the same mistake? If so, that's ridiculous - any good manager will sit the person down and go through the misdemeanour, explaining why you shouldn't have made the mistake and what the consequences will be if you make the same mistake again. If the manager thought the mistake was serious enough they should instigate the disciplinary procedure and document the conversation in writing. That should then be the end of it, unless it happens again.

If I were you I'd say no to the NVQ and carry on working, but start looking for work elsewhere!

    Good luck

Ive just had a spurt back on the cross trainer, at the time im not feeling it, but now ive got off i can! I tried really leaning onto the bars to work my arms, then i did it without holding onto anything and thats good because you need to balance properly to do it. I tried doing it backwards but that didnt work so great ha.

Trouble is ive just had a packet of crisps and 2 yum yums for lunch :/ not good!

Yes the telling off are all for the same thing over and over again, will make sure contract wise that if I have to do the NVQ or not and if not will not do it, my character suits a shop, I love talking/helping/listening making the customer feel welcome and that their needs are met that is me all over so shop floor work is ideal for me which is what I thought I was contracted for a sales assistant or now to be known as a health care worker when the HCA is done that is fine by me but working in a dispensary? Away from the customers, just bagging up medicines over and over again not for me:D
Boss did say he was contacting head office with my first ever in any job warning officially but then nothing more was said because what I can make out he did not report it for himself because he knows deep down that it would not look good on him and his chemist if they interviewed me it turns out that I should never have been dispensing medicines without the HCA, I was using the till from day 1 and handing out medicines from the moment I started (the supervisor was under the impression I had 3 months probation which I have had and then she applies for the HCA paper work which she has done, was told by the assistant pharmacist that is wrong, I should have been constantly shadowed, trained on the job, never give out medicines so everyone is covering themselves big time)
