I've been thinking about joining Slimming World, as the class is nearer to me than the WW classes.

Have any of you lovely ladies ever done SW and how did you find it?

I never done slimming world but done scottish slimmers, i think all the diet places are similir. I have known people do the slimming wrld thing and lose lots though. they have green/red days. i got so confused when they were talking about it

havent been on here in a while, and havent really lost anymore weight, but have changed shape and now just fit into my dress (yay) but need to loose more to avoid overspills of fless and that pulled look the material will get!

anyhow, thought i would all let you know, slim fast is currently half price at boots £2.99 for a tin, i have been doing it for three days and i am not starving hungry as you can have three healthy snacks and then one main meal. Its not something to do for very long but my sister felt it would giver her the kick start she needed and she lost 5lb this first week (and shes not that overweight anyway) so im giving it a go for a couple of weeks. Advice though - chocolate is horrid, but the others taste to me like normal flavoured milks. Was also half price in tesco. Bottles are half price too at £1 a time, which is expensive, but convenient for work etc.

have also started swimming to burn a few extra calories!

i dont know i think thats pretty good steady weight loss and with xas in the middle where you may have put a bit on and lost it again id say thats pretty decent. better than im doing percentage wise to reach your goal!

  • I have been at the gym loads - not lost any weight but I look more toned and I'm dead pleased with how well I look!
Still want to drop down weight wise though but I am happy with the progress I have made in January!

When working out I picture my dress and it means I keep working harder 'I will get a whole panel taken in off of it, I will, I will , I will!'
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

    Hi,
OK I am getting married on Oct 23rd

I want to lose 8 inches by then (I intend aiming high and if I only lose 6 then so be it)
As of 25th Jan my belly (not waste but beer belly !!) is 40 inches !! and I weigh 13.7 stone.

Background and how I am going to do it:
I have lost 4 inches round my waist before (in about 3 months) on 2 separate occasions - each time putting it back on through lack of exercise and drinking !! - But I know I can do it and I know How I do it. - This time I am more motivated than ever and I know I will enjoy it, the comments that people give you are great once your figure starts to change. Also its 3rd time lucky - Like when I gave up smoking this time I am really doing it and this time I am really going to keep control and manage my weight rather than let it all pile back on!

So I have enrolled in a gym and i am hitting it hard, I stopped running 4 months ago so I am trying to get back up to speed asap rather than ease into it (because I know I can) I will do exercise 6 days a week, trying to alternate what I do a bit to keep it interesting also having big days and lesser days.

I also will not eat bread and bar a proper excuse (parties etc.) I wont drink alcohol - even then I will try and just have wine rather than beer.

I am calorie counting and will not do without food - I will simple ensure I eat healthy/good food.

Also I found the Rivita dunkers taste quite good and I shall now consider them my treat for weekends !

I will weigh and measure myself every 4 weeks so as I can see bigger progress, weekly is less motivating for me - I like to see big results rather than lots of little results !

It will be hard but I will do it - good luck every one

  • Hi Ladies,

Have been reading this thread and will shame myself to get going with this dieting. Me and other half weighed ourselves on Sunday and have started our diet on the Scottish Slimmers plan (in true MSE style - not going to classes but using the books and recipes from previous time to plan our meals and keep on track).

We are getting married on the 16th of October 2010 and are both hoping to lose weight to look great for our big day. We have also been talking about starting a family following the wedding which makes it even more important as I have arthritis and will have to come off all my meds before we even start trying and docs will not support me in this unless I get my weight down to show I am committed.

So basically....need to think - what do I want more? Chocolate and Take aways or nice figure in my wedding dress and a baby to complete our family....put the chocolate down and back away from the confectionery!!!
