You don't have to get the same thing for them, I think my bridesmaids are going to be wearing completely different dresses, just the same colour, possibly not even the same colour for the maid of honor.

Yeah, I think I'm having the same colour but different patterns chosen by the girls themselves. Least, that's the plan at the mo - who knows how these things will turn out! Thought it would be nice to have the same jewellery though...I was hoping to buy 4 bracelets so we could all wear the same but no joy there...

Um, yes here's the link. They're very simple and I love the way they were made! If I buy them it's 150 cups of food as well :T

Hopefully Skyping with one of my bridesmaids later, so I can ask her :j Then speaking to the other one on Sunday - then the fun for the four of us begins! :D

Uh-oh...I appear to be 'browsing' the rest of the site, with a credit card beside me...

EDIT: Well, I've bought them! And if I don't like them or they're wrong, I'll just sell them. £41.90 gone from my budget incl postage so not too bad. I'd budgeted £20 each, but I'm sure the saving will soon be allocated to another underfunded budget ;) I was relatively good and only bought 2 other things, they were both in the sale :o But the postage was the same, I checked and I can afford them (although I'll prbably use them as presents anyway :rotfl:). Ooh and I provided 200 cups of food, and planted some fruit trees in Africa into the bargain - I do love that site! :T

I really really like the necklace, very elegant! Will they be wearing purple?

Just had an hour long chat with one of my bridesmaids, now officially asked and very excited (except for worrying about having post-baby weight - she'll have a 4-month old by then :j) It was SO lovely to see and speak to her; I love Skype! :D

Granny, how did you keep everyone warm in a marquee in January? This is one of the things that's concerning my parents, along with mud :D

    [/QUOTE]
Mud wasn't a problem - the flooring of the marquee was pretty sturdy and we had matting down to get people from the road to the marquees. But the cold ..... well we had portable heaters and quite a lot of alcohol. Some people didn't take their coats off for a loooooong time. The bride didn't seem to notice the cold at all. (the posh loos were lovely - and had heating so popping in for a wam under the hand dryers was popular)

Thanks Granny! I'll pass that useful info onto my conerned parents... as for alcohol helping to [STRIKE]numb the cold[/STRIKE] keep everyone warm, I like this idea, and OH's family certainly won't feel it ;) What kind of heaters did you have and how many for the size of marquee? I'm also hoping to find some space in OH's parents' bags to stow some more yak wool blankets away :shhh:

Well, OH is back now, which is WONDERFUL :smileyhea and he was even up for chatting about the wedding :D He loves the tipi idea, and all the ideas I've come up with actually, so that's great. Yesterday, on Loisa's great advice :T, we popped into a tailor's to get some quotes for waistcoats for the ushers (so saving on suit hire ;)) and a suit for OH. We were slightly lingually challenged but are pretty sure the waistcoats are 800 rupees each (wheterh we bring our own material - they didn't have the colour we want - or use theirs ), so that's about 6 pounds 60 (no pound sign on this internet pc!) plus a couple of quid for material; is approx 9 pounds reasonable do you think? The suit is 25 pounds plus material costs which I think is pretty good for a tailor-made suit isn't it?

What else? We've got some handmade paper for invites or thankyou cards, need to get a little more of this. OH likes the invite design I found (it involves photos of our trip ;)) so the colured paper may come into the Thankyou cards instead, but we'll definitely use it.

We'd hoped to go through the tipi quote carefully together so we can get some comparison quotes from other companies but unfortunately our laptop has died  (hence posting from an internet cafe). OH is off trying to revive it at the mo - ireally hope he can as I would hate to lose all our photos from the trip so far :eek:

Yes for the suit - add at least another zero for getting it done here I think!!! But if you can get the shop to show you some examples I would do that.

Sorry about your computer bails, I hope your oh is able to fix it as we enjoy your lovely updates x
