I am only allowed to spend up to £35 if I really wanted one as that is all I have saved up from my allowance each week. Anyway, I am really pleased with my purchase and it makes equally good bread as the rest of he other breadmakers out there. My mother had a breadmaker made by panasonic, and I could really compare the loaves of bread mine does from hers. My family loved it and I have never seen bread disappear so fast!:p

Hi I have also be lurking with intent to purchase a breadmaker, have read all the threads in the sticky and decided it was between the Morphy Richards or the Panasonic. It looked like MR would win due to price. But today I went to the local shopping centre, and went into Cash Generators, and got a "PRE OWNED" panasonic SD253 the one with the dispenser. I was really chuffed as I got it for £50 and when the nice lady in the shop opened it for me to see how preowned it was, it still had all its polystyrene and cardboard inserts in!!!!:j It has never been used.
It looks really easy to use, and at present I have a 70% wholemeal chugging away in the corner of my kitchen. Though I keep looking at it, and for the first 45 mins plus it was RESTING..... i was convinced it wasn't working, but it's now making clunking noises, so I'm just waiting to see what comes out at 10pm. VERY EXCITED....... is that sad or normal????
The receipes look good and I am determined that I will not buy any more shop bread ever again. I have a loaf in the freezer and I intend to leave it there as a standby. My kids eat loads of bread and the fact that I now whats gone into it is a big advantage as far as I am concerned.0 -

Our vote is the Panasonic too. It speaks volumes that the manufacturer hasn't brought out a newer model - hasn't needed to! We've had ours about 4 years now and make a couple of loaves a week.Make £2025 in 2025

Evening all
I have been bought the morphy richards fastbake breadmaker but really wanted the panasonic sd253. My question is this - should I return the breadmaker and exchange it for the panasonic sd253 (the extra money isn't the issue) or should I stick with the MR fastbake?
Thanks for all your opinions.:xmassmile:rudolf:0 -
Go for the Panasonic0

Hi lemonade_money,
I have the morphy richards and I'm delighted with it. If you really wanted the panasonic and the extra money isn't an issue....then If I were you I'd get the one you really want.
Some threads that may help you decide:
Breadmaker - Panasonic V Morphy Richards
Which Breadmaker??
Which breadmaker?
I am in love with my Panasonic breadmaker
The Morphy Richards fastbake BM Club
The threads on this topic are too many to list but if you have a look in The Complete Breadmaking Collection, you'll find lots more info.
