There are lots of threads on this one (see the indexed collections at the top of the page - well worth reading through) but I think it's fair to say that everyone who has the Panasonic loves it. I have the one that dispenses raisins etc. Opinions differ on this and people who bought the model without this feature don't seem to miss it but given you haven't yet committed yourself I think it's well worth paying the bit extra. I don't use it to add dried fruit but i do add seeds, sundried tomatoes, herbs etc and it makes wonderfully tasty different types of bread that way with no hassleIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Following advice from this board I recently bought the Panasonic 253 and now use it at least twice a week. The bread is brilliant and the whole family love it. I have also ensured that husband and 9yr old can use it so that it's not just me that gets the task!! No dodgy results yet.
Good luck0 -
I bought the sd253 in January and love it, im glad that i got this model with the dispenser as its so easy to wack everything in and leave it.
It is foolproof and now i even get the maker to make pizza dough and i do the rest ( the best pizza i have ever had) and i also make bread rolls now just for a change from the bread. The recipe book that comes with it is great and im enjoying going through that. Ive made the pannatone cake which was nicer than shop bought.
I love it and i make bread everyday, which no it isnt as easy as going out and buying a loaf but at least you know whats in your bread and the taste is gorgeous.Lightbulb moment January 2006 ..This spendings got to stop..things can only get better :T0 -

Glad to see that someone else has posted on this, as after my slow cooker success, this is to be my next purchase - we all love HM bread, and I often make it, but a machine would be so much easier!
So, my question is, where is the best place to buy it?
(Got the slow cooker from Amazon after reading OS board, and I'd never have thought of looking there for one!)GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Best thing to do would be to use the price comparison sites such as kelkoo which are linked in the blue bar at the top of every page. That way you help out MSE while helping yourself.

I got my panasonic from amazon. Cheapest place at the time.
I use mine a lot for making cakes. The book has a few great recipes. Marble and boozy cakes being firm favourites.:heart2:I have a child with autism.:heart2:0 -
I'm another Panasonic SD253 owner who loves her BM
and it's used almost daily for all kinds of bread, dough etc.
I had a Breville one before that, which I'd bought cheaply on Ebay just to try out a BM, but I wasn't impressed and it hardly got used. There's just no comparison between the two, and the panny produces far superior loaves in my opinion
Many people are worried about the expense of the panny if they're first time BM users (like I was) and opt for a cheaper model, but often get put off using it as the results can be disappointing, therefore wasting their money (see useless gadgets thread) as it either sits in the back of the cupboard unused, or they go out and replace it with a new one! (like I did)
I've yet to meet a panny owner who is disappointed with their bread!"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
