panasonic defo! Bought ours on ebay 3 years ago for £40 it had been reconditioned but seemed new. never had any probs with it and the bread and cakes are fab. never buy shop bought now, pizza dough takes 45 mins and makes great bases. Best part is you can regulate salt in the mix and no enhancers or e nos.
Tip -Allisons bread flour makes best granary bread.

    Another Panasonic recommendation here.

I bought mine last year and it makes perfect loaves every time,I wouldn't be without it.

Its got to be the Panasonic. I have one, also bought from ebay, although it was brand new. I love it. I have made all sorts of breads, fruit loaves, seeded loaves, ciabatta-style loaves, etc. I have also made fantastic white and brown bread as well as wholemeal that doesn't have the consistency of a brick! Great pizza dough too. I wouldn't be without mine. The Panasonic is more expensive but I used to have a cheaper one before and it wasn't a patch on this one. Shop around. I bought my mum one from Amazon at Christmas and it was about £85-ish. I have seen tham cheaper since.

I got a pannasonic of freecycle, there is some hot cross bun dough in there at the moment. Tried them for the first time a couple of days ago and they all got eaten within a couple of hours!

I have a panasonic sd253 with raisin/nut dispenser and love it to bits. Even if you just do pizza dough in it, it makes back the money you would spend on frozen pizzas or takeaways. The bread of course is naturally delicious in it too, I especially love the french loaf and leave it on timer overnight and wake up to the smell of a bakery in my kitchen!! It is also great for the usually expensive seeded breads making them for at least 1/4 the price of what you would pay in the shops.

  • I have an older Panasonic (without the dispenser) and it's fantastic. As everyone says the pizza is great and it also makes fabulous focaccia - we make a great garlic and tomato one

Have taken the plunge and just ordered a panasonic one, my oh will go mad as got nowhere to put it really but I could not resist. Have wanted one for ages and did not buy one straight away incase it was an impulse buy but after many months I still want one so now I have, or at least I will have very soon. Thanks for all the replies.
  • I have recently bought a cookworks breadmaker due to budgetary reasons.. I am only allowed to spend up to £35 if I really wanted one as that is all I have saved up from my allowance each week. Anyway, I am really pleased with my purchase and it makes equally good bread as the rest of he other breadmakers out there. My mother had a breadmaker made by panasonic, and I could really compare the loaves of bread mine does from hers. My family loved it and I have never seen bread disappear so fast!:p

  • I've got the Morphy Richards one and love it. My mum has a panasonic and by way of sampling I think the results are equally fab. My choice would be made by budget - unless the fruit/nut dispenser is essential (not for me).

I just made a pizza dough in my panny, stretched it out by hand and brushed some melted butter with crushed garlic and parsley on top of it and then threw on mozzerella cheese, cooked for 20 mins gas 6, best garlic bread ever!!
