Have never tried the Panasonic, but i have a Morphy Richards Fastbake, and it is excellent. It was cheap, and does everything i need, from bread, bread rolls and pizza dough!!! It even does cake, jams and marmalade, although ive not tried those yet!!!!0

We have a Morphy Richards Fastbake (in stainless steel) - I don't use the fast bake function - I don't mind it taking three hours.
It makes a vertical loaf with just one blade hole at the bottom. And the blade does a backwards turn and folds flat just before baking - leaving as small an indent as possible. It's the best one I've come across.
We use it every day (as there are five to eight of us).still raining0 -
We have the Panasonic ... must have had it over a year now. Never bought a loaf since. We started out making just bread, but now we batch make lovely wholemeal roll which are covered in poppy seeds. They are lovely taken from the freezer and just popped in the microwave to warm. We also batch make a herb pizza mix ... really handy to take it out in the morning and make a quick pizza when we get home from work.Enjoying an MSE OS life0

I have a Morphy Richards, but the office I used to work in had 4 - 2 like mine & 2 Panasonic. My boss had 2 Panasonics, one in his Somerset home & one in the weekday house!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I've just bought a Goodmans one from ebay for £14. Its used, but it's just to help me get started.
I've come on this board to learn how to save money, but end up spending it instead!0 -
I know this has probably been asked before, but I just wondered what the best model is at the moment. I've lost mine! Sounds strange I know, but it's not at my mums and it's not in our loft. It had a broken lid anyhows.
How much cheaper is it to make your own bread? I've noticed bread flour is a lot more expensive than Tesco value flour.
Plus I've always noticed that a home made loaf doesn't last very long because you have to slice it yourself. Is there a contrapion that can be bought to cut slices of bread for you at an even rate so it might last longer?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I have the Panasonic SD253 which is superb. Does everything in the bready line.
To be honest though it's no cheaper to make your own bread this way; as you say the flour is more expensive (+yeast, milk powder etc).
It's just delicious.
You can get things like this in the US; I'm sure you could buy one over here...Says James, in my opinion, there's nothing in this world

Cheers people. I have strong white flour anyways and yeast to make pizza bases, so I would be buying bready type stuff anyways.
I suppose it would come in handy for kneading the bases as well. Hmm, might have to look into buying one.
And cheers for Lakeland link. There's one of them near me, so might pop in and have a looksie.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
