Actually I guess my DS was about the same age as your DD, when I got a phone call at work to say he had been sick so could I collect him. I turned up to the classroom and another delightful 5 year old shouted out at the top of his voice "look everyone, P DOES have a mummy".......

I just had this vision of DS saying "yes I do have a mummy, so there" and everyone else saying "so where is she then? we don't believe you"

    :o:o:o

It appears as though today is the day that everyone has a massive case of the BLAHS.

    *hug*

    All shall be well.

It bloody well better be anyway.....
  • Oh macgirl that brought a few tears to my eyes reading that about you and DD. Isn't being a mummy just the toughest job in the world sometimes.

I'm sure you make up for them lack of mornings in so many others ways that other parents fail on, none of us are perfect parents.

Do you take her to school on a Friday?

Macgirl and Hypo you just made me cry.

I know mums that do the school runs, coffee morning etc...and they have no time or patience with their kids.

    Awww, group hug!

I thought Black Monday was last week?! Your story about DS stabbed at my heart Hypno :(
Yes, KM I take her on a Friday, and ironically she doesn't seem bothered either way then! *sigh*

Off to see what ails FF....

Hello, today is a better day :)

Didn't quite manage a NSD - it's proving difficult this month. No more amazon sales, but I have 3 Ebay listings with bids which end tonight and another 5 with plenty of watchers, so far it's at least £23 after postage, so not too bad!

Just got back from a quick run :A, so off to input the info to Nutracheck.
Will be back later after the kids are in bed. Hope you've had a good day if you're reading :)

Mad Men series 3 starts tonight - Yippee! :j

  • Feel so sad reading the story about your daughter, my son is exactly the same age and I waved/shoved him and older DD off down the alleyway to school this morning so I wouldn't miss my train :( Made me feel carp but like you I have no choice. Don't beat yourself up about it, although as mothers that is what we do naturally I guess.

It IS hard, but as I mentioned above, my two are now 14 and 15 and don't appear to have suffered emotionally or physically as a result......in fact they are far more independent than many of their peers. DS flew unaccompanied to France this time round, and will do the same when he comes home - he will have to deal with issues like excess baggage, making sure he watches the screen and listens to announcements so he is in the right place at the right time etc.......I am sure that this independence stems in part from the fact that I am a working mum and therefore it is a positive as much as anything else.

Have a good day everyone x

I would agree......my brother had everything done for him, my mum spoiled him rotten, was always home, laid his clothes out etc..thus we now have a 20 year old toddler!!
