If I had an Ikea near me, I would be heading there myself today - but having looked online and in the catalogue, I really would need to see it in real life before ordering I think.......so instead I will be heading to the retail park a few miles away which has a whole range of furniture places (not as good as a day in Ikea followed by swedish meatballs though!).

After living with a hoarder for 20 years......it is quite a shock to see piles of "stuff" disappear - I think my OH will soon realise that a 2 bedroom flat is not going to hold a lifetime of "hoard" :rotfl:

For me, it is the quickest declutter ever!

Ice skating or Ikea - I know which I'd choose.....and being a meat free zone - Meatballs wouldn't be it.

After successfully steering me past tealights, picture frames, coloured serviettes and other such fripperies I wanted but don't need, Hubby is now upstairs building the drawers :T

The wardrobes we wanted were out of stock, so we'll have to go back mid-week.
As we had borrowed a van, we managed to throw loads in the back and take it all to the tip, so I feel cleansed! (I ignored DH's puppy dog eyes as he chucked loads of magazines in the recycling :D)

I'm half way through ironing Ben Nevis, so will have a quick mooch, then back to it.
Hope you're having a good day if you're reading :)

Glad you had a good shopping trip and why are men so hopeless at parting with anything, i have a cupboard full of OH magazines, some are still in the sealed wrappers as he used to subscribe(until i cancelled them without telling him) and never read them, wonder if i could eBay them.

Hello stranger! :hello: How are you Miemie? Well I hope ;)

I tried selling unopened gardening mags on Ebay, but after 2 attempts and 1 enquiry - they didn't sell. The downside is that you can't charge postage for magazines. Lord knows why as they weight a ton - so I can't see much profit in it. Maybe a carboot is the answer?

Well TBH, like my debt busting - progress is slow, but it is still progress none the less.

There is now a small corner of the attic room that has 2 chests of drawers awaiting DDs' clothes. That will free up clutter from our room, so there is a tiny chink of light at the end of the tunnel!

My friend called round last night. She had a bad year last year, losing her brother in his early 40's :(
Things have not been going her way for a while, but she is ever the optimist and an inspiration. She was telling me about a flat she wanted to rent but another person had applied on the same day. She said she started visualising moving in and living there and ignoring the sinking feeling and now the flat is hers :T.

I really like that kind of thinking and have been trying to adopt it all day. Must get my act together and make that inspiration board I've been bleating on about....

Progress is progress, however slow it is - as long as you have that chink of light at the end of the tunnel, you have something to aim for!

Keep going, that attic will become the space you want it to be x
