Happy New Year.
Happy New Year to you too Gilli and thanks for that. I have changed and know I will start to see big changes to my sig and life in general this year.0 -
Thanks DT and F_F
We've just arrived back home after a lovely evening. We had a great time at our friend's - they have a gorgeous home and are great hosts - it was idyllic. Good food, drink and conversation last night. Kids all in bed (eventually ), a few silly party games, but very chilled and a good laugh.
This morning we got up, had a cooked breakfast, then went on a really long walk through the woods. It had been snowing but was really clear and fresh, so blew away the cobwebs a treat
Then we had a lovely pub lunch (which was a bit raucous with 8 kids ) and came home. It was a fitting start to what I intend to be a really good year.
I have big plans for 2010, I'll be 40 in August and need to push myself to achieve some goals:- Start a sideline creative money-making venture.
- Go back to yoga every week and run at least 3 times EVERY week
- Declutter for 15 minutes a day
- Become Debt Free!!!
- Move House by the end of the year - this might be a big ask, but I'm aiming high!
I probably need to limit the time per day I spend on here too, as much as I enjoy it, time is precious and I probably spend too much time planning and not enough "doing"
Right that's it for now - off to catch up.0 -
It sounds like you had a fantastic time and what a lovely way to start a new decade :T
Big plans afoot here too - it's just that I've not yet worked out what they are :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I've just signed up for a Craft m4fia site and some Craft and Arts Fairs info :T
Just need to figure out what I'm going to make now:o:o
Also completed my subscription to Flylady. I signed up a few years ago, whilst on Maternity, but then changed my email address and it kind of slipped....So that will give me a much needed kick up the bum to stick to the decluttering element of my "Mission".
A minimum payment has gone out to MBNA. It's frustrating but I can't overpay this month, as I don't want to go overdrawn. Need to get the money-making sorted pronto....
Ebay will re-start towards the month end, when people have been paid - hopefully meaning more buyers, then towards the Spring I'll have to do a Carboot or two - which I hate but needs must...0 -
HAHA, I HATE car boots too! I generally only do a couple a year - that's all I can cope with
In 2009, however, I did none whatsoever........I have a lot of stuff, though, that should at least have a chance of being sold so I should at least do one or two before I send everything to the charity shop/tip.......
Shall we do a deal then, that we will each do 3 car boot sales in 2010......that still terrifies me, but anything that is not sold after 3 sales is obviously not worth selling, so can be disposed of by other means.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Your day sounds fabby...very perfect telly family day.
My dad came round and we had a hummongous steak pie which needless to say the boys polished off. Then a game of cards so grandad could cheat to his heart's desire. We're takking him to see the new Sherlock Holmes tomorrow.:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
I hate carboots because when you get there and start to set up...usually in the dark, all the "proffesional carbooters" start looking in the boot and having a good old route about your stuff!!! Brfore its een out of the blooming car!!
This really gives me the creeps, and because I am everso mature and grown up, it also gives me the giggles and I end up hiding behind my car door frm them.LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

My experience of Car boots is grim.
The last one I did a woman asked me how much I wanted for a lovely necklace that was still in it's packaging. I smiled my best "customer-friendly" smile and said "50p!" (When I really wanted to scream "Just get your cash out blood suckers!!!")
She dropped it in disgust and walked off! Good riddance Tight wad!!!!!
I honestly feel it knocks years off your life doing them - it's so demoralising...
However, I have just had an epiphany! I have seen the light. I've been mooching around MSE and stumbled upon the Turn £100 into £10k thread which is right up my street.
- a bit of wheeling and dealing with mind-mapping and "The Secret" thrown in :j
Must go now as The Big Fat Quiz of the Year is on. I need a laugh and I love Russell Brand (I am partial to Jesus lookielikies:rotfl:)
