    Morning all
Feeling a bit tender this morning. I tripped on the stairs last night and somehow managed to rip my big toe nail off  the bottom of it is hanging on my 0.5cm - it's so sore and throbbing like mad :(

Anyway, that means I can't go for the run I promised myself - any excuse I know :o, but I'm planning to blitz the house today, so calories will be burnt and I WILL go for a run in the morning. Promise

Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch! I lost several nails when I did the marathon and they were all very painful, although the big toenails stayed intact. I hope the soreness eases very soon. I am feeling your pain just reading your post!

I had a look at the "make £100 into £10000" challenge, but as I already do the £10 a day challenge, and have extended that to £5000 for the year, I guess I am already doing a similar thing. I could extend my target to £10000 I suppose.........and could possibly achieve it if I included OH's contributions to the moneymaking........hmm.......hmmm.....

    Thanks hypno.

What inspired me most about that thread, is the OP Bing0. He has sooo much positivity and relentless ideas on how to make money.

I really got a buzz reading the thread. The message of concentrate on making money - not on the debt resonates with me. It's really sparked something in me, so hopefully it'll be the catalyst I need to give my debts the heave-ho in 2010.

No major wins on the scratchies, 20p and 25p - better than 10's :D and I have really fallen out of love with BB. The loophole has been closed. We have £9.80 of "winnings" but my account "exceeds the maximum amount to deposit"

So I'm playing it through, winning a bit, but not £20, so round and round it goes....

OH has gone out to fix my tyre, as I got a flat on NYE. So, I'll have a short break from the cleaning/sorting/decluttering and sit with my laptop and the kids....

    So far I have:

    1) Cleaned the kitchen and bathroom - both are gleaming :A
    2) Washed and dried one load and the 2nd and 3rd are in the washer/dryer
    3) Sorted out a load of books to sell on Amazon. Never sold on there before, but I've got plenty I could get rid of = £££'s.
    4) Started a new Ebay/Carboot box
    5) Changed all beds and washed bedding
    6) Paid the £199 to my 0% Nationwide card for the Tumble Dryer

    7) Read the money section in the paper which had a "Top 10" of financial things to do in the New Year.
No:1 on the list was MAKE A WILL. This is something I've been meaning to do for years, but costs have stopped me. I realise this is false economy so I've emailed a solicitor and will make that a priority this month.
Not very :money: in the short term, but long term it will be....

    8) Considered switching bank accounts. I'm currently with Lloyds. I switched to them when I joined MSE in Jan 2004 for a year's 0% overdraft  They've been ok, but are obviously not the cheapest. Now my O/D is switched to a CC, it seems the best time..... The only reason I am tempted to move is for a joining / Quidco bonus. But if we do move house later this year, I'm not sure how that would go down with a prospective mortgage provider...

OK, better get back to it, the bedroom beckons.....

Hello Mrs Mac the Motivated! Just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year! Not getting on t'internet as much as i'd like at the moment. I'm still living in the new baby twilight zone! When OS and OH are at school / work next week i can get myself and baby into a better routine.

Have you started what craft stuff you're going to make? If you have crafty skills it sounds like a good plan to put them to money making use.

Hope the toe is better too
One step at a time ;)

    Thanks Miemie and Hopeful :)
Glad to hear little baby hopeful is doing ok, you seem so organised already! I must admit I found early motherhood very hard, so you have my admiration :A

Well, I have successfully decluttered the dining room and found homes for everything. I blitzed it a few months ago, so it's now easy to keep tidy.
I wish I could say the same about my bedroom  It's a bit of a lost cause I think.

The main problem is that we have boths kids in the smallest bedroom in the house.
It has no storage for their clothes, so they are now all in our room :o
We planned to move the kids into the attic bedroom (which was OH's office when he was freelancing, but now he's in partnership and has an office), but DH has misgivings regarding safety, which I have to agree with.
They are very young and little DD especially, is a daredevil  so he's worried we'll hear a thud and one of them will be lying at the bottom of the stairs....Bunkbeds are ruled out for the same reason.

So we've decided today, that he'll clear one half of the attic and that will be a dressing room / playroom for the kids.
It's still abit higgledy piggledy, but hopefully we'll move within 12 months.

In money news; 3 things are listed on Ebay and I discovered that some of the books I had for my dissertation fetch upwards of £20 on Amazon Whooohoooo!! :j:T:j

How old are the kids? What kind of stairs are you talking about?

Reason I ask - myself and my brother lived in the attic for years using a ramsey ladder to get up and down from when I was about 7/8 (He's two years younger than me) with no issues.

I did throw him off the top of the bunkbeds more than once though so you might be right about that one :A

    Hi F_F
They are 5.5 and 3.5. The attic does have a formal staircase , up the middle of the room. To be honest, I would put them up there. We have always had an open fire and - stupidly perhaps - we never had a fireguard. I think in the same way, we can teach them not to sit on the banister pretending it's a horse! (Like I used to do :D)

But when OH mentioned his worry about one of them falling down the stairs, I see his point, as the stairs are steep.... we'll see.
Hope you're not worn out after the mammoth inventory! :T
