Back from town, blinkered myself from looking at anything with "SALE" on it, or anything red and white. Phew!
Paid in £390 to my account, which felt very good indeed:A
Off to ring Busy Bees, the company that deals with my childcare vouchers. They messed up my vouchers in October. Of the last 4 payments that left my salary, only 3 made it to the nursery. The nursery then deducted another £243, as they were missing a voucher.
So the money has left my salary AND been deducted from our account.
Due to work/ Christmas and PArty stress, I gave up after sending numerous emails and phone calls, but today I'm going to try and sort it out.
Wish me luck - I'm going to do battle :rolleyes:0 -

Hooray, hooray!!! Rang Busy Bees, their system was down  but said to ask my childcare provider to ring them to sort it out.
So I rang the nursery and the manager just checked my account.
She said the extra voucher had been paid today :T:T:T:T, so now our account is in credit by £3 and there is nothing to pay this month! I am over the moon!
Next stop, decluttering the toybox, cleaning the car and tomorrow I will go to sort out my old shed of a car that is stuck at my Dad's work.
I'm going to clean it up and put it on Ebay by the end of Jan. It doesn't have an engine now, but I reckon should still net me a few £100's. :A0 -
Good news on the childcare stuff......one less hassle to have over New Year.
Good luck with the decluttering - I've been flying, but really need the car up and running before I can do much in the way of actual decluttering - need to get to the bottlebank/tip/charity shops.......gah!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Car not washed and it's getting dark now. I'm going to do it myself and save 3 quid by not going to the carwash as I normally do. Will do first thing in the morning.
Started the ironing, then had a "heated debate" with OH about the neighbours (new tenants are not the tidiest and there are bags of rubbish out the back where we all keep our bins). We are now the only owner/tenants in the first 5 terraces, so we feel it's defo time to move on.
We bought this to eventually rent out, but obviously we can't do anything until my debt is gone.
I feel fed up for him and guilty, but all the more determined to clear it so we can move on. Off to re-start the ironing, but will first try my luck on BB.0 -
Hm think Busy bes have been rubbish lately..they changed company names and lost my voucher money in october too..and then blamed my payroll department.
Turns out that they had my money for three weeks, but because they changed over their computer systems the new one did not recognise the payment??? Ehh it drove me potty for weeks!!!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid
Pay off 10% by March 2010 (3336) yes!!!:j
Pay 19k by Dec 2010 19000/5732.39 30.12%

Yes Chops, I think many have had this problem.
Anyway, all sorted now, so breathe.......and relax
Back to work tomorrow for me, so I can already feel impending doom of the return to 100mph lifestyle
Yesterday, my Mum offered to clean/tidy for me a couple of times a week :j I feel uneasy about this on many levels, but I could do with help (plus she LOVES ironing - weirdo), so I decided to snap her hand off!
Right, just going to finish the ironing and do more loads of washing, then that'll be out of the way for this year. I have to start tackling the utter embarrassment that is my boudoir today and attempt to sort the old shed of a car.
Won another £10 for DH last night on BB, but it won't let me deposit for some reason, so need to sort that too.....0 -
Just updated my sig - it makes for grim reading.
Mine is the only one that regularly goes UP not down, how depressing...
This year is the only year for a long while where I haven't spent a penny on a CC for Christmas, so while I'm really chuffed with that - the overdraft has increased
I shifted it to Virgin CC, then spent it again for Mum's party which ended up costing me £312. Bogger.
I will not buy one lunch, breakfast, magazine, lovely glittery anything until I've hammered that debt - So help me God!!!
(Sorry went a bit Scarlett O'Hara there)

Does your mum want to pop by mine a couple of times a week too
Don't be too disheartened about your sig - you haven't spent on a credit card, and that is a sigfinicant step in the right direction! Also, the party for your mum is a one off, so is not something that you have to try and budget for on a regular basis.......remember, it is still early days for you, and you have to do all the "adjustments" to your spending/lifestyle which is not always easy......each time you recognise something or change something, you are setting yourself up for a huge amount of progress over the next time frame!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Despite the drive of a few 100 miles - I think she probably would!
You don't sound like you need much help at the moment though - beds stripped and in the wash before 8am?! :rotfl:
Thanks Hypno, I do feel like I have a massive shift in my attitude towards spending and that was the biggest obstacle. It's just frustrating that the numbers don't move quicker - but they will0 -
It is the shift in attitude that is the most difficult thing to achieve - once you have that, the rest will follow naturally.
I compare it with dieting/losing weight........if I say I want to lose weight, I genuinely do - I know the benefits, physically and mentally, know what I need to do, have the ability to do it all.......but if I haven't made that shift in attitude, then no amount of saying I want to lose weight is going to result in shifting the lbs...
But if my head is in the right place.......the lbs drop off without a huge amount of difficulty.....
I've got my £££ head in the right place, but my lbs head is not shifting at the same speed!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
