:santa2: We've had a few more inches of snow overnight and this morning.
This morning I had to take DD to the Doctor's due to her bad ezcema. She scratches so much it bleeds and looks awful. He's put her on anit-biotics and cream, so that should sort it.
I managed to dig the car out and go and get a very-unfestive bulb for my car headlight
Other than that, no wins on BB, only 10ps on the scratchies and I even bought a £2 "Pot OF Gold" Scratchcard - but won nothing
Off to delivery pressies this afternoon and to visit family, so should be a nice festive afternoon. I'm dosed up on Lemsips, so don't feel too bad - at least I'm not at work:j

Thanks DT and Gilli - Hope you're having a good one
We've had a lovely day. The kids were ecstatic this morning - it is magical having little ones. We then went to my parents for lunch and arrived home around 8pm. The kids are having a sleepover at Granny's - bonus, I'll actually get a lie-in tomorrow :j
Hope everyone has had a good day and got a few nice pressies . Just off to finish my Thornton's Toffee Chocs Mmmm-mmmm!0 -
Well soon after the last post, my Mum rang to say they wanted to come home.
After watching Home Alone, elder DD piped up that we "should be together as a family at Christmas"
(she, who begged and pleaded for a sleepover in the first place :rolleyes::rolleyes:). So we got the wellies back on and trekked back across town to get them.
Both kids needed the loo in the night - twice - so I've been up 4 times in total.
At 4am I decided to get up as my mind was racing - hence the reason I'm on here now.....
Now Christmas spending is over, I'm seriously thinking about money and how to drive the debts downwards. DH and I had a heart to heart on Christmas Eve, with him telling me that he hates his life and feels trapped.
Not with me, but with work and money and the debt I've accrued. He does see it as "ours", though I don't. We always had separate bank accounts and put a chunk into a shared pot (I know this doesn't work for some, but that's how it has been for us).
He's not my keeper and we have a very good, balanced relationship - marrying him is the smartest thing I've ever done and I love him dearly.
However, he trusted me to be responsible and I so wasn't.
Now he has to go without because of my stupidity. I feel so guilty and sad for letting him down....
If it wasn't for my reckless behaviour, we wouldn't be stuck in a house that's too small for us, up to our necks in debt. I know my debt is alot less than some, but it's all relative. Our outgoings (unavoidable childcare costs) are high, which prevents the debt coming down sooner.
I feel I am procrastinating again......I know there is much more I could be doing.
My siblings owe me for the party, so I need to have that awkward conversation with them tomorrow (or is that today?!) I spent £570  and need to recoup some of that. Mum wanted to chip in, but I think no (though my bank balance thinks "Yes")
Plus, I have an old car that I've been dragging my heels over selling and need to clean up and get sold. It doesn't have an engine in it now, but that's a looooong story. Either way, it should net me a few £100's so I need to sort that asap.
On a positive, Scottishpower wrote to me the other day saying that our monthly payment is going down from £97 to £89 per month :j
Though that might change now my beloved tumble dryer is on the scene
Sorry for blabbing on (if anyone's reading this). I'm going to give myself a stern talking to, go back to bed and wake up with a different head on, night x

Oh poor you, having all that going on in your head, when you so wanted a lay in (((hugs)))
I always see the period between Christmas and New year as one for reflection - some good, some not so good, but the best thing is that you can sit down, write mind maps, do some brainstorming, make goals, work out what was right about last year so can be continued or repeated, and what you could happily ditch and never do again, and what could be done but with modifications.
This debt will not last forever - set yourself a new set of realistic goals about repayment - if you need more in your budgets to do fun things, then reset the budgets to allow for that, and let the debt take a little longer to pay off.
If on the other hand, you want to go all out to clear it, work out the "short sharp shock" method, and tell OH that it will hurt for a little longer but then will free you all up more.
Which ever way you do it, and whatever ideas and support you need, we will be here for you.
I hope you managed to get back to sleep and that you have a good day xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hope you've had a nice lie-in Mac.
I think I've been doing a lot of thinking on the same lines as well....I hate it when my brain does me out of a good snooze
Hope you're feeling a bit better now you've got the rant out!
