Hey macgirl - hoping the party goes really well and that you get to enjoy yourself too!!:TOnward and upward - with the odd step to the side

Hi Hopeful - hope all's well with your new little man and hope you're feeling ok too
I'm V. tired today. I worked late last night, but didn't get as much done as I'd have liked and doubt I'll get much done before Monday due to the party
All the food is now bought. I've got a fair bit to make tomorrow evening:- 2 x sherry trifles (Nigel Slater's recipe - it is YUM!)
- 3 or 4 Veggie tarts with butternut squash, feta, leeks and olives
- A wild rice salad - I don't know quite how as yet
- Coleslaw - never made this before, but a friend assures me it's easy - let's hope so
Everything is sealed or in cool bags with the plastic greenhouse cover zipped tight and secured with plant pots around the base. Hope it will be ok - do I sound mad doing this?! But luckily is is below freezing, so it's the perfect place!
I am worried about leaving food outside, but I keep telling myself that we don't have bears in the vicinity, so we should be ok! :rotfl:
:rotfl: lol the bears might just be tempted out for scrummy food
Make sure you relax and enjoy the party too, you've worked so hard. Everything sounds delish :T
I'm feeling fine, despite the very uneven / unpredictable sleep pattern! He is better than my oldest was so it's all a nice bonus. My little man is gorgeous and healthy which is more important than anything else.
Have a fab weekend xOne step at a time0 -

Hello!
I've had a truly manic few days, hence the reason I've been awol.
The party was a huge success, though almost did not happen. We were stuck in the snow, about 30 people cancelled - as did the band...
However, Mum turned up and was totally surprised. Loads of people trudged through the snow looking like they were ready for a North Pole expedition - with party footwear in backpacks! It was a fantastic effort and we had a great night, so it was well worth it. We had enough food to feed the 5000 - apparently, when you cater for a party, you cater for half those attending - Mum told me that after the event - ah well I'll know for the next time (though, there won't be a next time)
I had to leave work this morning, as the blizzard started again, so after picking up the kids early, I'm now home to start my day's work
No scratching or bingo done for the last few days, so will get back to that this evening. I still have work tomorrow, but whether I make it in, is another matter.....
House a tip, laundry mountain growing by the day and finances in tatters....
Looking forward to a "New" year
Hope all's well with you xx0 -

Hello All and thanks for your kind words and good wishes!
It was my last day at work today for a week, so it feels like Christmas is here and I can relax...
I've got an awful cold and feel a bit run down, so I'm looking forward to a few days doing nothing. We still have loads of snow, so it looks like it will be a White Christmas after all
We're at my parent's on Friday and I don't have to lift a finger as my halo is still shining from the weekend :A
I'll be around tomorrow, but for anyone reading who won't be - Have a very Happy Christmas, Peace and love (and debt freedom) for the the New Year xx0 -
