Hope everything works out OK Mac but you definitely need to chase the contract have all the necessary searches been done presumably as this house was on the market a while a house information pack was done so that should help things along.

Crisis averted.
I rang the solicitors first thing and they said they had the contracts now :j
Yes, there is a HiP DT, so that should save time, we paid for the coal mining search weeks ago, so hopefully they've done that. I emailed the EA yesterday to have it in writing and they replied today saying that everything is fine and it is now marked as sold. They reckon our solicitor has had the contract for the last month, but I'm not getting embroiled in the "blame game", at least they have it now.
Don't know when the completion date will be and we don't really mind, but I am just gutted that I was breaking my neck to meet their deadline and that has passed by without so much as a whimper. Anyway, I have to get past that, the sale is still progressing and that is the main thing. We still love the house and if we have to wait a few more weeks then it's not the end of the World.
My main concern was little DD starting school. I didn't want so much upheaval for her in such a short space of time, but kids are much more resilient than we take them for, so I'm sure it will be fine.
The girls are both having a sleepover at a friend's tonight (though I will be on standby for a call at 10pm for them crying to come home )
I am already in my painting gear and after beans on toast, I'll finish off the glossing. Attic stairs and door this evening
Hope you're all well and thanks for the words of encouragement :A0 -
Glad everything has started to sort itself out and hope you get moving in soon.0

Thanks Taxi!
I didn't get as much done as I'd hoped, but painted up the sides of the attic staircase. A friend was saying how she hated doing that, as she always got bits of carpet fluff on the paintbrush. I smugly told her about my paintguard and how I don't have that problem (I was so proud of myself). Well, Pride before a fall. I've had half the ruddy carpet in the paint tin tonight and the brush needs to go in the bin!!! Serves me right.
I felt a bit tired and started getting sloppy, so have called it a night. Still I'm a bit further on than yesterday, so I'm happy with that.0 -

Well, as the kids are out tonight, I was driving home looking at all the runners thinking I should go this evening. But....the glossing was waiting, so that won.
I'm definitely a morning person, so as tired as I feel now, I will spring out of bed and go in the morning - 5 miles I think. My colleague who is the uber-fast runner reckons if I can run 10 miles, I'll be ok for the GNR - here's hoping0 -
You will be FINE for GNR!! Honestly you willSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Goodness, I so admire you two. Painting and running - hate 'em both. I tell myself am choosing my face, not my tush, by not running - and things are holding up both ends so far, anyway, but it can't last - but what of my cardio vasculars?
And good news on the house, mac
