Finished my run this morning. 1 hr 30mins exactly :j It's a lovely sunny morning here, so I really enjoyed it. I haven't mapped it, but I guess it was around the 9 mile mark, so mission accomplished.
I felt good and am really looking forward to the GNR now :)

I've just showered and eaten breakfast, so I'm off to change into my painting gear to do the upstairs doorframes and skirting.
DH is in the cellar clearing out boxes of things he "needs", but hasn't opened for years. He's in a right sulk :rotfl: So I'm giving him a wide berth today :D

    Hope all's well with everyone!

    Just catching up.

Glad you've decided to still do the GNR, after missing out the other week when you broke your toe especially.

Leave DH to his mutterings in the cellar - enjoy your painting. I love glossing, I find it relaxing.

  • Wow I have been catching up what a rollercoaster ride over the last few weeks

Yeah to mortgage valuations (mine was done whilst we have been away so don't know the result a little concerned as the firm doing it were the ones who gave us a very low valuation when we thought about selling 18 months ago)

Yeah to Rome I love it although it would be nice to go just with my OH two sets of twins the youngest ones only being a year old in the August heat was a challenge but still lovely

Yeah to 40 being the same as 39 can hardly remember my 40th except I know on the day we were in Charlie Chalk's with two extra children the sacrifices us mothers make

Boo to families I will say no more

    Boo to Natwest and id

Boo to solicitors (even though I was one once)

    Yeah to doing the GNR

And most of all well done you coping with all you have (husband's packing houses in one weekend don't make me laugh - mine has been completely missing on two occasions working away and on one of those after smashing up the car on the way back from the tip on his final journey after I said I would move as long as he helped clear the attic - so just a small hire car to cope with instead of a large seven seater!)

Hope your moving date gets sorted soon.

    Love DTxx

DH has done loads, bless him. I even heard the angle grinder at one point  So left him to it! :D

Gill, I too find glossing relaxing - and any kind of decorating really - I even like wallpapering. However, after 5 doorframes and skirtings today, I've had enough!

DT, lovely to see you :) I don't know whether the solicitors are to blame - though I've been reading about lots of disgruntled buyers on the House buying board.

Last night it dawned on me that perhaps I've had too much good faith and have been too trusting. I've been so busy keeping my head down and keeping on top of the mortgage(s) are there are 2, plus 2 sets of valuations, that I missed the big picture.

What if the reason their solicitor hasn't sent the contract to ours, is because they haven't yet instructed one? What if they are still holding out for a better offer and that is the reason they are stalling? In addition, the house is still being marketed. It say "Under Offer" on Rightmove, but not their own site and not on the property board. This is unnerving DH, but I have enquired about other properties before with the same EA and they wouldn't let me view when they were Under Offer. All the same, this house is really Sold SSTC, so I have requested that it is taken off the market. I'm trying not to get carried away, I know EA's have a bad rep, and could be in cahoots with the vendors and showing other people round - but what can I do about that (other than get friends to try and view - but I'm only setting myself up for unnecessary stress going down that road)

DH thinks we should threaten to pull out, but I think that is too hasty at the moment. I was in a red mist on Friday, but have since calmed and don't want to cut our noses to spite our faces. I will be on the phone to the EA and my solicitor every day if I have to, but first I want to make sure that they are still willing to sell......:(

Thanks Taxi. I spoke to my MiL, who is very level headed and she said she doubts they are playing silly b*ggers if they've already moved out, so I'll have to wait to see what happens this week. My Mum on the other hand is a bit more skeptical and thinks they could have another offer, or be conducting viewings.....

I guess this is why they say it's such a stressful business - but I'm trying to put it in perspective.

Hope you're feeling ok with everything :)

Hope all your fears are unfounded. It's probably just the stress of it all, making things look worse than they are. I foresee a day on the phone.

I am sure you will do some straight talking with the EA today! No need to do anything other than ask the questions.....

Well done on the glossing - I decided yesterday that there is a point when glossing is no longer relaxing and satisfying and becomes tedious and tiring.....I def reached that point yesterday!

I am sure everything will work out for you, but am sorry that it is so stressful for you xx
