Right, application done and so far all is ok. Paid for the valuation = £361, so once we have sent back the forms and let the branch see copies of DH's ID etc, we'll be well underway :j
DH's accountant is going on holiday this week, so that may slow things down (I asked DH to nag him, but that's not really his style )
So, finger's crossed it will al go through without a hitch. I am feeling positive, but I want to keep my feet on the ground for now.
We've instructed the solicitor - got a deal through the IFA, so that is done, now need to look into payment protection, insurance and all that gubbins - joy.0 -
Full steam ahead then, it seems!
I am sure there won't be any problems. You are not in a chain are you, so you don't have to worry about your buyer's buyer's buyer pulling out if they too can't get a mortgage....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. That's true. The only spanner would be a gazumper.....
Anyway, lots more decorating to do and jobs to finish first. Curtains hemmed. I'm going to get out the paint for the dining room now and touch up the chips, same for the stairs.
A friend is coming tomorrow to move a gas pipe and quote fitting a new rad in the kitchen. Then tonight we have the lovely subject of our Will to discuss with the will writer - nice.0 -
Dining room done and curtains rehung. They look lovely now they are not trailing on the floor!
Just eaten an early dinner. Debating whether to do the stair walls now.....as I need to collate all my Will info before 8pm, so might be cutting it fine.....
I have been looking at accident and sickness cover today. The IFA said he can get competitive quotes, but I still need to shop around - can't just take his word for it.
Then we need buildings and Landlord's insurance for this place and need to contact the letting agent soon and get that plate spinning too - my head's spinning!

Argghhh, I am so blinking cross
This so-called discount Will writing firm "We are cheaper than Solicitors because we only write Wills and don't have their overheads" Boll@cks!!
What an Arthur Daley he was. I'm so mad at as I thought it was too good to be true but the lure of £59 as opposed to £200+ swung it. All day I've been smelling a rat, but didn't act on it and decided to have a leap of faith for once. Mistake. I did my homework and checked them out - though clearly not enough! It IS £59 for the Will, then £75 EACH to store it = £209!!! Cheaper?! Bleeping bleepers. We virtually drop-kicked him out of the door (politely)
Am currently shredding my way through a bottle of white and a box of Heroes to calm down. More annoyed that I could have been painting tonight! Chin Chin :beer:0 -
Sounds like its all systems go with the house stuff....all very exciting0

Payday tomorrow, so I'll be divvying up the spoils for the envelopes. I'm so pleased with how well it's worked this month :T
Although I have used my card the odd time, I've been using it far less so good progress has been made.
Spent today - £1.20 on breakfast at work
£21 on a present for a good friend (but got discount via work :money:
£12 on another present for a friend's son. I made the mistake of asking what he'd like and she said pyjamas
I had to bite the bullet as she had bought my DD clothes from Next for her birthday. Why do we feel under pressure to give like for like?
Got my payslip today, so tomorrow I need to buy a printer cartridge and print my latest bank statements, then we can take everything into the bank on Saturday for verification.
Someone was saying that their Natwest mortgage went through in less than a week - including the valuation, so let's hope that's the case for us
Hope everyone's well and has had a good day

Envelope day for me tomorrow too!
Painting going on here as well - DD is doing the utility room. I am going to blitz my bathroom tiles shortly......ooh the excitement!
Fingers crossed the mortgage goes through quickly - I am sure all will be well xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Sounds like you are busy! It's well worth the hard work

Oh, I hope so! It is looking better already. Amazing what you can achieve when you put your mind to it!
