Yep, I love the envelopes, but am only using them for personal spends. All groceries are bought from the joint/household account, so I use the card - now strictly once a week only.

Talking of which, the good news is my toothache cost nothing :j She thinks it's stress and I'm clenching my jaw! I don't feel stressed at the moment, but I'll try and take note. Thankfully no filling - mercifully no crown - needed. Phew

The groceries cost much more than intended (got sucked in by the BOGOF's :wall:), but I am still determined to be under for the month. I'm away for 3 days next week, so will just need the basics next weekend. At least the cupboards will be well stocked whilst I'm away.

Little DD and I are having early lunch/brunch before heading out to the city to take back a top I bought in the sale, but can live without. Then I'll nip into the running shop and hope I can pick up a bargain.

I forgot DH is off to London this evening as he's swimming in The Great London Swim tomorrow at Docklands - like you do, so I'll try and squeeze in a run this evening instead. Right, off to strip the beds, then we're off.

Me too - £18 for a black Ronhill one - somehow Hypno, I'm imagining yours was half that price with double discount + Quidco cashback :rotfl:.

DD wanted me to buy a yellow one, but I explained that camoflage is the name of the game

I'm not one for outdoor swimming either, but DH spent much of his childhood living on the coast, so is a real seadog. He does the Great North Swim in Windermere every year too - I have great admiration for anyone doing it, but it would never even enter my head to do it!

Well I spent £3.40 on parking  but I did take back the top = £42 :o I'm so pleased with myself thogh, as I was soooooo tempted to buy something else in All Saints, the discounts were so good. But I stood firm and walked out :T

It actually feels good to be not "consuming", whether it be food, clothes or just "stuff". I feel lighter physically, mentally and most importantly - financially.

Still pining for THE house though :( being patient is very hard - especially as it might never be.......

Well done on the envelopes and the top in the sale.

Thanks Taxi, he's getting ready now, though didn't sleep well last night, so I'm a bit worried about the long drive for him.

No run for me, I am absolutely shattered now. It's been a busy week and tomorrow will be full-on with the usual kids ballet and swimming, then the school Summer Fair - more £££'s.

Quidco has tracked my M&S order (£1.30), but not the Rome trip  really hope it does as that will be a nice little earner....

Hubby's gone, girls are in bed (though STILL not asleep) and I for my sins have invited my posh friend round for lunch tomorrow. So for the last hour I have been cleaning and tidying like a woman possessed (why do I do these things to myself?). Anyway, I could so easily slob in front of the TV, but I will be happy when it's all done.

Countdown to a cleaner starts here......

Nothing like a bit of "embarrassment cleaning" to get the housework done!

Hope you manage to relax soon, though!

So true! But I've done for this evening - will get up at 4am and finish the rest :rotfl:

Luckily, I've had numerous embarrassment/panic cleaning frenzies with window man / letting agents / insurance assessor etc, so it's not in such a bad state.
As DH says, I need to get over the fact our house does not quite look like it's in an interiors magazine (though that IS what I'm aiming for )

Anyway, before he left DH produced the cheque for the windows - hurrah! :j I've already booked them to be done a week on Wednesday - Yippee!!

Then I received an email 0% offer from Egg - only til Jan 2011, but better than nothing, so I've transferred Virgin to that. So all in all - a good money day :)
