Thanks Hun, it doesn't feel like a fantastic time, but it's better than my last race, so a PB is a PB. Think I might stick to 5k in future :p

Well, almost 11.30 and the ironing is still to do :o I am almost packed, just need to pack my handbag and tie up loose ends.

Right must go, or I'll be up all night. Hope the Volcanic dust behaves so I can get there and back without too much disruption. Have a good week all x

    Howdy!

Just back from the Big A and am very jetlagged. I'm trying desperately hard to stay up until a decent hour to try and get my sleeping back on track.

Had a good trip. The weather was mixed, but really beautiful yesterday. I met my sister for dinner the other night, which was great as I really miss her - though with wine at $17 a glass  was not cheap!
It made me realise that we need to commit to visiting her next year and every year. We haven't been there for 6 years - which is too long.

Workwise it was good, but as I was with Director level colleagues I felt I had to be on my guard, which is tiresome as I'm normally quite open. I made my interest known in an area which is currently under development, so it was productive. I got lots out of it and am looking forward to getting back to work on Monday and putting it to good use.

Moneywise.............(long exhale). I was really good and the only real splurge was the dinner with my sister (I paid, as she drove for 3 hours for the evening and paid for very expensive parking). Then yesterday after lots of cajoling from my boss to "treat" myself, I did :wall:

Got home and the joint account is overdrawn - now righted with dwindling savings and my own account is horrendously overdrawn. So the work restarts to tackle that.

Of course, while I've been away, a lovely house has come on the market which I'm going to try and view tomorrow - some things never change then :o:o:o

Glad you had a good trip, and hope that good things come from it, career wise, for you too.

Am just off to bed now, but will catch up tomorrow!

    Welcome home!

    Don't bother Taxi - it's mainly waffle!
Spend, beat myself up, try to pay off debts while looking at houses I can't afford and praying for September when my youngest goes to school so I can recoup some of the cash spent on nursery fees.

TBH I was considering giving up my diary, as I'm taking 2 steps forward and 10 back :o

Thinking about you Taxi, hope you are baring up xxx

What a fabulous day - Summer is well and truly here!
I was dead to the World until 10am, I'm so jetlagged. I woke to little DD hugging me tightly telling me how much she loved me and I was never to go away again :(

I took DD1 to her swimming lesson, then nipped to the supermarket for the bare essentials for a barbie, which I lit while the kids were in the paddling pool. Can't believe how hot it is :j Managed to spend less than £50 which included enough food to tide us over until next week, so all ok there.

I have been down in our cellar today and as it doubles as the laundry room, it's starting to feel a little damp. We are in desperate need for a working window down there. The whole room needs clearing out - there's easily 2 carboot sales in there - but I don't like being in there for too long as there is no fresh air.
So, I'm going to arrange for the cheap window firm to come on Friday and give me a quote - we may just have to get the cellar one first, as I really want to avoid putting most of it on a card....

Also, I'm arranging for the house to be valued for rental on Friday. I was speaking to a friend today, who I didn't know had a couple of BTL's. He said to go for it as their's had never been empty, which was reassuring - plus my neighbouring ones are let again - all the more reason to move.

Which has pushed me to arrange an appointment to view the house on the lovely road near me on Friday :o

Hope you've had a good day if you're reading :)

There are - but only in my head  seen another house and am going to arrange a viewing to keep DH's head in the game....

Another fab day :j I've just broken for lunch, but have been busy all morning. I've cut the front hedge and weeded the front garden, which is only gravel and stone flags, so not too laborious. I've have trimmed the box balls we have in pots and swept up the clippings.

Then I refilled the paddling pool for the kids - it's carnage out there already. While they were dive-bombing into the pool, I dug out the can of furniture restorer and stripped the garden table. It's now back to it's original colour rather than weathered grey. I'm so pleased with myself! So once it's dry I'll give it a couple of coats of teak oil and it will be like new :T I'm debating whether to tackle the chairs as that will be harder - so might just take the weed killer to the back passage way instead....

Off to get lunch - hope the Sun is shining where you are :)
