Oops, I've been neglecting my diary :o Hope everyone is keeping well :)

It's been a very busy couple of weeks, running, work, inlaws visiting, meeting friends, kids etc etc.

Workwise I'm away to NY tomorrow (ash cloud permitting), so am ashamed to say I had a bit of a splurge on Friday to breathe some excitement into my wardrobe, all cheap(ish - apart from 1 dress :o), but all investment, wearable for years, which is preferable to me than throwaway Primarni stuff.

On the money front, the usual bills are being paid and the windows fund is growing steadily - but no major movement, I'll try and update my sig later. We haven't been house hunting, (though I always keep one eye on RM ;)) but that is still on the agenda for this year. The steady revolving door of neighbouring tenants is starting to test us and has forced us to move sooner rather than later.

Right must dash, got a packed lunch to make for the kids, finish washing and ironing every last item in the house (I'm away until Friday, so want to leave it all done) and then don the running outfit.

I've got the Manc 10k today - so look out for me on the telly! Average height, dark hair and a spare tyre resembling a Teletubbie :o diet is still a work in progress :p x

    Finished! :j a shade over 57mins - so I'm ok with that.
When we got to 5k, someone shouted out "That's half way", so I checked my watch and I'd done it in 23.22! I thought blimey - I'm going to be sub 50!!!!
However, after that I faded fast. I ignored my usual strategy of steady for the first 3 miles, then I get a burst of energy and can normally manage a sprint finish (well, relative to my pace :o), but today I went out too hard, so found the mid section very tough. My friend managed to shave 3 minutes of last year's time, so I'm delighted for her! She is 1.5 stones lighter this year, so that is an incentive for me.

Now the training for the Great North Run starts - gulp. Hope all's well with everyone / anyone x

I feel soooooooo tried now, slight physical exertion and I'm totally done for!

I still haven't had a bath, so am about to have a soak, then need to muster up some energy to iron the last few things and wash the bedding.

We don't fly til mid-morning, so I offered to drop the girls off in the morning. DD1 said she'd rather her Dad take her because she'll cry if I take her. I asked "Why?"

She said in a very light hearted way "Because you are the person that is right in the centre of my heart and it will make me sad to see you go!" :(

I'm not normally bothered about flying, but with the ash cloud / potential damage / Libyan plane crash with that poor boy, sole survivor and lost his parents and brother :(:(:(....I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

The absolute best thing though, is that I am meeting my sister on Tuesday night. I haven't seen her since Christmas, so that will be a real treat and I can't wait :)

Enjoy the soak in the bath, and have a good trip tomorrow - I am sure all will be fine, whether it is plane disasters, weather, or little girls tugging at heart strings!

Well done on the 10K thats an excellent time :j

    NY lucky you enjoy

The flight will be fine and great that you will be seeing your sister.

I saw my sister today unexpectedly as her flight to Ireland was cancelled so they called in on the way to the ferry so her loss was definitely my gain. She looks so much better after her cancer treatment last year her hair has grown a lot and she has lost weight which reallysuits her.

See you when you get back
