Just got back from a 5 miler. Felt a bit carp before I went as I have put on 4lbs :o
I really need to tackle my emotional attachment to sugar, so will be weaning myself of it - the day before Mother's Day - yeah right....

Off to get my hair cut and coloured - it hasn't been cut for months due to cost cutting - so is in dire need. As for the colour - I'm starting to look like a piano :o:D

The house was blitzed yesterday and I have to say Flylady is taking effect :j

So this afternoon will be swimming lessons, then Ebaying with a vengence. Need to make some extra money this month.

    Have a good day :)

Hi Chops - TBH I'm already decided, there's no way I will squeeze family life any further. I leave at 6.30am every day so don't see them 4 days a week. That is more than enough in my book. I pick them up between 5.30 and 6, then we are all tired and tetchy, so it's not exactly "quality time".

Truth is, although it would be better financially - there IS more to life than money - of that I am sure :)

What are you going to do?

This was my life when DS was small, except 5 days a week, and I was a single parent so no alternative. The thing that suffered was the house. I used to blitz the house on a Saturday when he was at football and anything not done by 12 didn't get done. My SIL used to come round and pass comment, run her finger over tops of doors etc.
Could you use the extra day to do something creative that would be enjoyable and save money on gifts, or even earn something.

Have to say I agree about the SiL
I always feel that certain members of my family look down their noses at my house - but I'm hoping that's just my paranoia :o

Guaranteed there will be a knock at the door as soon as I sit and relax and the house is also "relaxed".
No one sees it as it's most pristine - ah well, life really is too short to be overly anal about it.

Well, weight wise, I hit rock bottom today. 2 of the hairdressers were pregnant and we were all discussing it. Then the lady came to cut mine and asked me if I was expecting too :(:(:(

That was the final nail in the coffin and the ultimate motivation. I do have slim legs and hips, but the minute I put weight on, it goes around my middle........
So, I bought a Blast Belly Fat DVD whilst doing the shopping - only £3.99, so I can stretch to that. Plus I picked up some tips for "apple" shaped exercises whilst reading a fitness mag in the hairdressers.

I've bought loads of healthy food, so will make some soup later and am going to write everything down again in my nutracheck diary, so although I feel on a downer about it - I can't let it beat me....

Sorry it has been a carp day so far. I'm finding it quite hard to adjust to the "new" way of eating as my emotions are so all over the place that half the time I just don't care, and the other half, I want to get my act together, so my eating patterns follow suit!

Well done on the run though, I'm still *thinking* about it :rotfl:

Thanks to both of you :A

Well, I have entered a 10k next Sunday and that is what got me out of the door this morning - as intended :D I reeeeally did not want to run today, and feel quite heavy which made it harder.

However I will go tomorrow too. The only reason being, I don't want to make a fool of myself next Sunday. I only enter races to motivate myself to run - so it does have the desired effect.

Plus a friend offered me a place in the GNR today :o:o:o I had got my head around NOT doing it due to cost etc, but I don't know....................

Hey Macgirl - checking in with you dude - and catching up.
:Tfor entering the 10k - AND for getting out there and running. I keep planning to enter one (am v scared though - I KNOW it will hurt;)) and manage to get my running to a certain distance...and then I get a virus, or work goes crazy and then I can't get out to run for a few days. i'm not a naturally fit person - and also quite a lump so there is a lot of me to haul round!:rotfl:

Anyway - I wanted to say THANK YOU for your encouragement and support on my diary (and wherever else we 'meet' on here):A Its helped a lot during my recent horrible time xx

Ah, glad to hear you're feeling better about everything Rupe. Keep posting, there are some great people on here that will get you through :)

As for running, well I'm not a natural runner either - I certainly don't look like one and this morning was hard. The first 1.5 miles is uphill into an icy headwind - I felt like I was going backwards I was that slow :rotfl:

But I did my 6 miles :j and then came home to try my new Blast off Belly Fat DVD. It all went well until l was doing the plank and little DD crawled underneath me with a worried look on her face asking me if I was alright!!!!! Course I'm not bl00dy alright!

So I gave that up as a bad job, but they are only 10 minute segments, so I'm aiming to do one every morning - I'm sure I can manage 10 mins a day.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all Yummy Mummys! Hope you have a lovely day :A
I've had a beautiful bouquet of flowers and some homemade cards that I'll treasure forever.

    Right off to scratch ;)
