Hey macgirl...don't torture yourself about having a night of laughter talking to your sister.
My brother lives 9 miles from me and I probably speak to him less than you do your sister, I'd give anything for a good evening of laughter with him but he's too busy most of the time
Enjoy it and give yourself a break every now and again
Agreed, don't feel guilty about having some time for yourself.
My sister lives 2 miles from me and at the moment I'm on strike. I spend a lot of time keeping up with friends etc. and mostly we take it in turns to ring each other, but it dawned on me that my sister never rings me. I speak to my friends in Spain & Jamaica more often, so am now waiting for my sister to ring me. Childish, I know, but I'm the one who goes to Mum's 2/3 times a week, rings her most days, so sister can ring me for a change.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Families eh?! I see my brother about twice a year and he lives about 4 miles away!
At the moment though, I'm more bothered about my DD1. Her ezcema is really bad at the moment. The herbal skin cream that was recommended, is so far not working and if anything, the ezcema looks to have spread further around her body.....
I really want to avoid using the steroid cream as she's so young, but don't know whether we're wasting time (and money at £13 for a tiny pot ). I just wish I could sort it out.
Not much to report today moneywise. Played a couple of lines on bingo last night from my scratchcard winnings and won £6.75! :j Bought a couple of expensive looking, but cheap Christmas pressies today - £4 each :money: Other than that - no other money in or out.
I've been very tired every night this week, but have some work to do this evening, then Mad Men and bed.
Hope you are well if you're reading0 -
Hi Macgirl, I have had to use the steroid cream on my little boy, well both of them when they were little. Its a worry, as its so bad for their skin, but sometimes its the only way to break the cycle.
Once I have got it back undercontrol , the sterid cread does work fairly quickly, I then just lathered them in a soft white parafin cream from the doctors. Its really gluppy and looks like lard.
DS1 has totally grown out of his ezcema , and at the minute DS2 is clear but still having daily latherings in the glup.
I think its trial and error with the moisturising creams, as some we have tried made the ezcema worse.
Also I have started to try not to bath DS2 ever night, and this seems to be helping too. He just has a wash every other night.LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

Thanks Chops and IMD
Yes, I don't bath her every night either. She is not bothered about it at the moment and keeps telling me not to worry! I just want to be rid of it, so may have to resort back to the prescribed cream to break the cycle as you say chops - thanks
We had her parent's evening last night and we're still glowing with pride. The teacher said she was a model pupil, was kind and polite and is excelling in her work - bless! Sadly, I doubt the same will be said for DD2................
10p on the scratches, one is nearly at payout, but no other money in. £100 went to Barclaycard today, so I'll update my sig shortly. Plus I'm in the Yellow zone of the MFiT Challenge with 3.79% paid off :j:j:j
Hope all's well and have a good day x0 -
Well done on the MFIT challenge, and well done to DD1 too!
My DD's eczema, which rarely makes an appearance now, has flared up recently - I think it is stress related.....masses of coursework, GCSE's looming, "home" stuff etc.
She also used to get a flare up if she had a new tooth coming through.....could be worth thinking about things like that too, in which case it will ease as the tooth has emerged etc.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. A new tooth, I'd never thought of that. She is heading towards 6 and still hasn't lost a tooth, so that could well be it! Thanks
Just been to B&Q to take advantage of their offer. We needed paint, satinwood and damp paint (to sort out the damp patch on the kitchen ceiling caused by an overflowing bath ) and sealant, so I managed to save £12 :money:
I did have to buy 2 cans of gloss, but as we'll always be able to use that, it was worth it to get the discount.....
The rest of the day will be spent, washing, cleaning, more decluttering and then painting the kitchen hopefully!0 -

I suffer from eczema (at the grand age of 32:eek:) and have found only two non-steroid things that work:
Bodyshop cocoa butter body lotion applied morning and night when it's bad (usually the summer) and just every morning without fail the rest of the time
Aloe Propolis Cream applied the same
The aloe propolis cream is a lot more difficult to get hold of and a bit more expensive than the bodyshop but a bit more effective I find.Natwest Card 27.06.10 (reduce every month) £267.63

Thanks Nelmer, I'll check those out
Just decided to paint the damp patch on the kitchen ceiling prior to redecorating.
I wanted to take the side of the (tiled) bath panel off and fix the leak properly, but DH said "No" as it's only from the kids splashing and a small leak in the overflow, we're renting it out anyway......
Despite my reasoning, that it will still be our house and a stitch in time and all that - but he was adamant, just paint over it. OK.
So I ran my hand over the offending stain to check for any flakes of loose paint and my hand went straight through the ceiling  :rotfl:
Can't wait until he comes home and I can have my "Told you so" face on!0
