Hi mac, just popping in to let you know I'm still lurking, missing you on the pad thread.
You've been busy - well done. :j And car tax - yuck, mine is due end of May, as well as MOT. :eek:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Hi Sashy :hello: I might be able to make a big PAD soon, so I'll be back. Thanks for your kind words
Woke at 5am to the sounds of next door's baby bawling - which has just stopped - now I'm awake  Last night I discovered a house I've had my eye on for over a year has finally sold - only about 6 months before we were in a position to buy it
It was on a large plot, ripe for renovation/extention and crucially within the school catchment. There are many of these types of house, but rarely with such potential - so I was dreaming about it all night, then woke to a crying baby.....bliss.
Anyhow "it wasn't meant to be" blah blah, but it has reminded me to get a mortgage balance today as part of the MFiT challenge. I will be in the red zonefor sure, but that will change by year 2.
Updated my sig last night, so nice to see it moving in the right direction!
Hope you have a good day if you're reading0 -
Hi Mac it makes such a difference driving home in the light i agree!!!xx0

I know how you feel about the house.....I've got several that I know if they come up for sale in the next 12 months, I would have to give serious thought to whether I could possibly sell this and get the finances to move. Most houses are "nice but not dream house" but there are a few that I walk past and imagine my sofa in their lounge
And don't worry about being in the red zone - it is a three year challenge, not a three month one.....and you will see a huge improvement over the next couple of years, I am sure!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I've just updated! Whoopeee!! :j:j:j
I have to say I'm happy with my progress. I certainly wouldn't have even considered trying to overpay the mortgage until my debts were paid, but as all the interest rates are about the same - it seems silly not to.....thanks to Hypno and DT in particular for inspiring me :A
Once little DD starts school in September, there will be an extra £500 left over after paying Out of School fees, so that will go towards the mortgage (or new mortgage if I have my way )0 -

Brilliant news on the signature! I wish I could overpay the mortgage but we're putting that on hold until we have repaid the CC's as OH fears the CC interest rate will go through the roof!

Well all my good intentions of budgeting and Flyladying have gone to pot tonight. I was on the phone to my sister in America and we have laughed for an hour instead. It was just what I needed
I really wish she lived closer and it's not like we can afford to visit her anytime soon
Right, off to try and make amends, then bed - night all x0 -
Hey macgirl...don't torture yourself about having a night of laughter talking to your sister.
My brother lives 9 miles from me and I probably speak to him less than you do your sister, I'd give anything for a good evening of laughter with him but he's too busy most of the time
Enjoy it and give yourself a break every now and againNatwest Card 27.06.10 (reduce every month) £267.63
