It still looks brand new, I don't think it has made an appearance since at least 2009 and I'm not quite sure where the ironing board has gone. We both work in offices and look smart for work, it's just a matter of choosing what you wear carefully (eg some of my blouses are made of floaty stuff that would not need an iron or a woollen type top / cardigan). Hubby wears a jumper over his shirt or wears none iron type ones.
Hehehe me too!!
I only iron the kids school shirts/pe kits if theyre really creased. I find folding when wet and flat drying methods mean I can avoid really bad creases. I do like the smell though, it reminds me of being a kid and my mum doing the ironing on a sunday night, but I just have better things to do! Oh, but I do iron things when sewing.''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
I find ironing the dullest chore going, hence my number one priority for school uniform purchases is that they show the words 'non-iron' on them
plus, it helps that DH doesn't wear shirts to work. Everything else that would normally be ironed is taken from the washer as it finishes and is hung to dry.
I think the reason I dislike it so much is it's very faffy to try and dig out the ironing board from the cupboard of doom (seriously, things go in there, never to be seen again!!). Our iron actually did a disappearing act for a while once, it was hiding in a corner cupboard in the kitchen!
Hmmmm..... not painting a very good picture of myself on this forum lately, am I?!! :rotfl:

I don't mind ironing - it's the one job you can do when watching TV. I iron nearly all of my clothes, and none of DHs. He irons shirts as he needs them (seems pointless to me as once you've set the board up you may as well iron a few things at once). I don't iron nightclothes, underwear, or what I term 'loungewear' (jogging bottoms etc). For me ironed clothes feel nicer to wear and it gets rid of any lingering damp.0

I have to iron my OH's shirts for work. And some of his Tshirts, the nice ones for going out. home tshirt I only quickly run over if they need it.
And lines on my black pants, and my shirts - but I only own a couple, I tend to buy tops that don't need ironing for that very reason:-))
I also like ironed pillows, if they need it, but never ever iron duvet cover - I wouldn't even know how to start, it's huge!!
My MIL doesn't iron anything at all. I don't know how she does it, because her clothes do look like they have been ironed.
P.S.: I have to watch TV when I iron - the only way I can get my mind of it!!0 -
do you iron everything or just the bits people see. for instance do you iron towels, bedding, underwear? i personally iron day wear, sleep wear, vests and bedding. that tends to be it lol. just wondered how many of us iron everything.
when i read your title i thought 'FINALLY someone like me that just can't be Rsed to iron!'
i simply don't buy clothing that needs ironing and most of the year the wind outside does my ironing for me should any of my clothes mysteriously develop wrinkles
mind you i don't work in an office, i'm self employed so i can get away with less formal clothing but there are a lot of nice looking materials you can get these days that require little if any ironing
i used to iron my ex husbands work clothes (he was a cop) omg the guidelines i had to follow and startching his collars etc, put me off for life0 -
I probably spend about 2 x 30mins ironing a week, usually before I go to work in the morning. I iron shirts, blouses, workpants, the occasional skirt (most are gypsy style crinkle ones) t-shirts and tops. I don't iron jeans, pjs, undies, ties, bedding or towels.
My mum once spent ages ironing out the wrinkle in a blouse of mine when I was younger. It was a crinkle top though and I never could get it to crinkle again. It ended up 2 sizes too big for me

actually, I understand this feeling. As a result ATM our ironing board lived behind our bedroom curtains, it can't be seen whether they are open or closed but its convient to get to, and then the clothes are near where they need to be put away, so no wrestling things on hangers upstairs....just iron them then hang them up. Its a simple change but its really so much more useful having it there.0
