I iron clothes and tea towels...0
-
Only thing I iron is work shirts, and that's only because I have to.
There's absolutely no reason to iron t-shirts, tops, jeans.
I'm guessing you don't know how to use a clothes horse properly
I don't need to know how to use a clothes horse, i like looking tidy. If you 'have to' iron work shirts that must mean you're not allowed to wear creased shirts, so i can't see how any of your other clothes can get the creases to fall out.
I hang shirts and t-shirts on coat hangers to dry when they come out of the washer and creases don't drop out.0 -
i iron all our clothes as like them to look crease free do iron DS boxers but no OH dont really know why though but always have. I dont iron towels and swapped cotton tea towel for towelling ones a few years ago so they didnt need ironed
If I can get away with it i dont iron bedding, if I do iron it it is just a quick rub over
I do have friends that dont iron but I never think their clothes look as finished as they would if they were ironed0 -
i iron most things (and sometimes i pay someone to do it for me) I hate ironing with a passion, but refuse to wear un ironed clothes. I dont iron underwear, socks or towels but everything else gets done. I can keep on top of it for a bit if its just tops and jumpers, but when ive changed the bedding thats when I pay someone to do it as I just cant get it ironed properly.0

We did have an email sent around our large office (smart-casual dress-code with dress-down Fridays) reminding us all that we were expected to have ironed clothes. But we work in customer services so I think it's only respectful to the public to look tidy.
Of course, whilst lounging around my own home, my outfit is fairly liable to be black yoga trousers and a comfy, stretchy-fabric top with a sloppy-joe sweater in season. None of which gets ironed.
I'd say only about one-third of my laundry falls into the ironed category.
I do favour cotton hankies over tissues and they are always ironed. Tea towels are something I'm learning to leave un-ironed as I am on a rampage to get my leccy usage down. However, I do use cotton napkins and want these ironed.Up and down, funny little personal habits.....we all have them.;)
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I struggled with ironing fitted sheets for years....until my father's Russian housekeeper told me to iron them on the bed they were going on. I don;t buy fitted sheets any more because I think they are designed to pop of in the night and annoy, but when I use those we still have I do tend to do just that....so they come off in the morning, get washed and hang then ironed on the bed in the afternoon/evening. Its SO much easier. Flat stuff I find ok to iron.0 -
I was lucky as my mum used to iron for us but she is not well a at the moment so we are doing it. Dh will iron his and ds karate outfits and his and ds stuff but wont do mine as its too fiddly! I do it every other day to keep it managable. x0

super post IMO.
also, what jobs we do/where we are wearing the clothes. DH in the City would look very wrong unironed, where as me in the farmyard....no one will ever see. Likewise, at the weekend in his boiler suit for labouring, dh can be unironed and when I want to go out in the evening or am going to wear ''proper'' clothes I want to look presentable. Most of my house clothes/night clothes don't need ironing (e.g. fleece pjs) but some do, like old fashioned cotton ones.
One of the reasons I don't iron t shirts is that I always forget to turn the temperature down for the rubbery stuff on the front of non plain t shirts. We don't really wear t shirts for smart things, if they do I iron them inside out.
Ironed tea towels make my life feel more in orde than it is, as well as meaning they can be compressed into one drawer! (nicest ones at the back:o) and my linen is stored not just stacked, but tied with ribbon or legal tape into ''sets'':o:o:o0 -

yet people seem to think that creases fall out of clothes even though everybody else manages to be able to see them.0
