  • try to spend as little time as poss ironing. If WM on short spin then I take out school uniform and hang on hangers in the airing cupboard. Do give DS trousers a 30 sec whip over to have sharp creases.

If bedding not too bad don't iron it but like pillow cases ironed ( sad I know).

I like to set myself a challenge of shortest amount of time to get the ironing done, eg 20 mins. Love trying to beat it which I usually do.:rotfl:
Never in my life have I ironed socks or a bra!!!!

Everything i iron only gets a quick whip over.;)

I Iron husbands work shirts, childrens' cotton blouses, T-shirts and our bed linnen. I just LOVE ironed sheets! there's nothing better. ;-) Coming out of the shower, and hopping (skinclad) into a clean, fresh, crispy ironed bed.... Lovely!.. Alsmost as good as (you know...)

I don't mind ironing, it's quite therepeutic. It's slow time, time for me to gather my thoughts and think about things without getting distracted. And I get a real sense of joy and pride looking at a big pile of freshly ironed clothes.

I iron to the News Quiz on the iplayer.

Its half an hour a week, and I laugh all the way through it.

When its finished I stop, and if theres anything left it needs to wait till next week.

I iron seams on things I've made. and I use the iron for quick faux-blocking on acrylic crochet items.... but other than that I don't use it much.

wait... people iron CLOTHES? LOL! kidding. I have one top which hs to be ironed no matter when I take it out of the dryer or if it doesn't go in at all, hubby has a few hawaiian shirts which need doing but it's winter now so I don't expect to need to do one again now until april. minime has soe clothes which look better ironed, but not a lot... and asda's "no iron schoolwear" LIES. I still had to pin and press box pleats. urgh. I got so sick of it I made three of these A line school skirts for her...

I iron most clothes, apart from underwear and things like jogging bottoms. I don't bother with bedding but that's just lack of time, I do prefer it ironed.

I couldn't wear something that hadn't been ironed, I'd feel really uncomfortable. Each to their own though.

Probably only takes me about an hour a week and it's done in front of the telly. I quite like it once I get into it, it makes the house smell lovely.

I never iron. I don't even have an ironing board! My friend irons my work shirts for me and also the odd bits that might need doing on a random basis. I pay her in dinners, as I cook big portions anyways. I've tried ironing in the past, but I'm amazingly useless at it, so I get frustrated. I'd rather have someone do it for me instead of stressing about it, as it keeps me (somewhat) sane :D

I am sad and like to iron as I find it therapeutic. I don't do underwear, bedding or PJs etc but I do everything else and find if I can try to do a little bit a few times a week it's so much better than doing a huge load once a week.

  • How much ironing people do is probably related to this thread which is running currently :D

I'll add this to the exisitng thread to keep ideas together.

My mum still irons everything, she loves to iron while watching morning tv. Everyone has their own needs but i am now in the non iron club.

My friend irons to RELAX!!! Poor soul! Surely there must be a medical cure for such a condition.

I iron the minimum amount possible. Unless I have guests staying. I will only then iron bedding, as crumpled linen, doesn't look very welcoming.
