I iron as I go for me and OH. We have to fold a lot of our clothes ( no space in our apartment ) so if I iron everything before it goes away it needs doing again when it is pulled out to be worn.
I don't iron under wear ( unless an underskirt if needed ) and I don't iron towels or bedding. I iron my table runner though![STRIKE]Debt 2010 £74,000[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Debt 2012 £42,000[/STRIKE] Debt Jan 2013 £38558 Baby boy born 19/05/20120 -

alot of people seem to do a couple of hours of ironing per week..i do 1/2 hour at most just 2 kids school shirts (10) and trousers and 2 shirts of hubbys per week.
just cant understand how people have so much ironing?
I've never found that just hanging something up resulted in the creases dropping out <shrug> I normally have my WM on the fastest spin which means the clothes aren't wringing wet but they are more creased. I don't have the luxury of a TD so can't afford to have really wet clothes hanging around for ages, especially in winter. So pretty much everything we have needs ironing (such as underwear and towels).I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I do not iron, I use to when I lived on my own. Now my DH does not see the point and says there are better things to be doing with my time and to be honest, I do not miss it. I do iron the odd thing but I ow only really iron my creations on the sewing maching! I like to iron the hems before sewing!
My mum still irons everything, she loves to iron while watching morning tv. Everyone has their own needs but i am now in the non iron club.Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!0 -
School shirts, sometimes DS school trousers and outer clothes (jeans, tops, skirts) for 2 adults, 2 children. Thats it, about an hour a week.
My friend irons EVERYTHING , towels, tea towels, bras, pants - even socks!!!0 -
I've had my iron for 11 years. It is my very first iron, bought as a housewarming / moving in gift from OHs parents. It still looks brand new, I don't think it has made an appearance since at least 2009 and I'm not quite sure where the ironing board has gone. We both work in offices and look smart for work, it's just a matter of choosing what you wear carefully (eg some of my blouses are made of floaty stuff that would not need an iron or a woollen type top / cardigan). Hubby wears a jumper over his shirt or wears none iron type ones.0

i don't iron, never have done
when dh moved in 13yrs ago & asked me to iron his shirts i said no cos i don't iron, he took his 1st & last load back to his mum to iron & was told in no uncertain terms if he did that again he could move back lol
dh now irons his own stuff (work clothes) on a weekend & anything else that needs to be done if we go out for me or dd0 -
I hardly iron anything. Most of my clothes, the creases tend to drop out though I will iron a dress if it's for a night out - and when I was working I made sure it wasn't TOO crumpled! It just seems a waste of time and electricity most of the time.
The only things that get ironed now are OH's work shirts, and he does them himself.
Edit: I just saw someone else's post, and I have to say, I don't even know how you COULD iron a bra!February Grocery Challenge - £100.87/£180February Don't Throw Food Away Challenge - £0.60/£1.500 -
I iron Sunday night or Monday morning, just my sons school uniforms and jeans for DH and his shirts if he's worn any that need ironing. It's kind of cold in our house so we mostly wear jumpers and fleeces over T-shirts. My work trousers are school kids "iron free" and never crease, and I never leave anything in the washer after it's finished so it doesn't get creasey."There is no substitute for time."
