Hi Gemma2509 and djdymond and everybody

I am a member of bodyoptimise although I have been doing Slimming World on and off for years (don't you think I would have cracked it by now!)

So even before I joined bodyop I knew a lot about the Slimming World plan so I don't know what it would be like to come to it new and which would be the best package. I renewed for 6 months about 4 and half months ago and I don't know anything about silver and bronze membership - are these new or have they just passed me by?

Even though I say I know a fair bit about Slimming World I still miss things (like Cheese being an HEB on green days which I've only just found out) and I still don't do things I know I should (I gave up measuring out milk too as everybody who made tea in this house forgot that I had my own little jug - I know - wrong!).

I also have a fairly repetitive diet - I think you just do get into a habit of eating certain things that suit you. Also I have a budget so I'm not going to spend my red days eating lobsters!

I get on very well with Slimming World though and I've always noticed that when I have been off it and go back on it I feel healthier straight away even if the pounds don't fall off. I am sure than when I iron out my blips I will get to target. It's an ongoing process but I think it's worth it.

(Oh dear, that last bit sounded like 'because I'm worth it'!!!)

Hope everybody had a good weekend!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • franby - I have been on SW for a month now, and very rarely have had the same meal twice! Its easier to vary than you think :)

franby you made me laugh with your little jug, i had the same problem! and then you visit someone for the day and drink their tea or coffee and then you dont know how much theyre giving you! or they might use a different milk to what your using and that totally screws it up!

im not too bad with varying i thought although i dont have something different every night, i am trying though.. id never made macaroni cheese or my own pasta sauce before...

anyway onwards and upwards... or should that be downwards?? lol
  • shouldn't drink wine coz now i want chocolate! going to try and resist the urges!

it's not as if you're eating these syns on top of your usual dinner, that is your dinner, so I don't think the syns are as 'real' as if you were having them in say snacks or purely alcohol.

    Pardon :rotfl:

Sorry to say syns are syns.....they're all real whether they're eaten as a meal or in between meals. I don't think there's a lot in a pizza that can be taken as 'healthy' sadly.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

yellowbird, when I was a SW member a couple of years ago often the weeks i had onion bhajis from the takeaway on the way back from the pub i'd lose weight, i'd not count these in my syns, but i think sometimes eating more on some days means your metabolism has more to process and it kinda kick starts it a bit. It's perverse but often the way it happens.

This is also a HUGE factor in people not losing weight! Not counting the 60-70 syns easily racked up in that 'no-syn' pizza means you should only have 35 syns left for the week - but people then eat 105 syns that week and wonder why they gain!

Fresh pasta is made with oil to preserve it.
