  • Hello fellow slimmers

I have a confession to make in that i failed to attnd my WI. i made the big mistake of weighing myself on home scales which showed that i had put on 2.5 lbs and i just could not face everybody. I thought I had been "good", unfortunately this has been my story for the last few months, lose and gain and dont know where i am going wrong. i have used diarys and even copied early success week diaries but i seem to have plateued (dont know if this is spelt right) anyway today i am in a stronger frame of mind and i will continue to follow the plan as it will work because it has done so in the past.

Hi yellowbird - the plan does work - it's just us isn't it!

I'm feeling a bit 'bleugh' today and I'm also feeling a bit nervous about Christmas. I've no good reason to because I haven't got any work do's etc to worry about - it's just Christmas and New Year themselves. Perhaps I'm just feeling a bit sorry for myself!

Just have to keep reminding myself that I'm in charge!

On the positive side I've had a good day today. I've done some (not all!) of my Davina DVD and whatever happens this Christmas I will be thinner than I have been for years. That is a good feeling.

Hope everybody had a good day!

However, I still have a healthy extra B to eat and syns, but I don't want to eat anymore food.

Do I HAVE to eat another healthy extra and my syns for the plan to work?

You are supposed to have 1 or 2 HEAs each day + 2 HEBs (unless you're doing Extra Easy) but you don't have to have your syns every day if you don't feel deprived.

However, since you love cheese and you're doing Green days.....you can have cheese as a HEB as well as a HEA on the Green plan so perhaps you could have extra that way and use your other HEB for bread and still have that cheese sandwich you love ;)

The thickly buttered toast is a no-no though, sorry :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I often used to find if I weighed myself at home before WI it rarely reflected from week to week what I'd then see on the scales at group. Maybe it's worth giving your scales to a friend or a member of your family to keep for the moment, because it's obviously being counterproductive to your progress. And even if you do go in and don't have a loss at group, then you've got the support there to hopefully drive you, instead of sitting at home and feeling guilty about the not attending as well as the weight gain. I know it can be all too tempting to hop on the scales before you go.

belfastgirl I'm partial to maltesers, and used to treat myself to a standard sized bag on the evenings i'd been weighed in and have them with a cup of tea. You can buy the funsize multipacks...they're about 20g in weight, but they work out as 5 syns, a nice little chocolate fix i find.

    Re: The chocolate fix.

I used to enjoy 2 options or highlights mixed into half a tub of quark and maybe a bit of vanilla muller light to make it less dense. Makes a fairly good pass for a chocolate mousse and is very filling for 4 sins.

I say used to because I have stopped eating chocolate altogether - must be a month now - just had no control over it sadly. :)

You dont seem to eat very much - this could be affecting your weight loss :) You have also not used your 2nd HEB/HEA or any syns.
  • missjennipenni, melda, franby64, thanks for the advice.
missjennipenni i started sw eating plenty but i am trying desperately to start shifting weight again that i am trying to cut back, and back (used to do this in the bad old days of dieting) melda i think you are right, I stopped weighing myself at home because this is what has stopped all my previous attempts a i become obsessed and dishartened if they dont show what i am expecting so will deffinitly hide them. ( I think this is mentioned earlier in the thread). franby64, you are probably right i am feeling sorry for myself its just listening to fellow slimmers at club who had a good 3 lb weight loss confess to 3 bottle of wine and 2 bags of crisp at the weekend ( ive never done this) plus she goes the chippy after weigh in! i would like to think it may catch up but she has lost a lot. still lucky girl, i just know ive got to keep focussed. thanks for all the advice. only just found the thanks button.

I'm starting again today, I gained 1b last week! I'm not angry with myself, what's the point?

I have a question, OH and I moving home in 3 weeks, only round the corner but of course in the days leading up to the move we won't have access to a fridge or freezer as we'll have to turn it off to defrost it and let it dry out, what the hell can I eat that's SW friendly for several days that doesn't need to be kept cool?
