Good afternoon all and hello to all the new people (cos I'm such an old hand at this now, haha!!)

It's amazing what a bit of sun does for your mood isn't it? Been practically dark here at midday for weeks but today is lovely so took the opportunity to go for a 15 minute wander, darn windy though! Was slightly annoyed as went to the shop fpr a paper and it was full on young skinny girls buying massive sandwiches and bags of crisps  - jealousy is a terrible thing!!

Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, off to the folks in North Wales tonight so if the weather's nice might do a little bit of walking, otherwise it's all christmas shopping and (the best bit) lots of SW-friendly food all cooked by my mummy, yay!!

Have a great day everyone x

  • Wow Yellowbird - that's amazing!!! Well done!

I got on the scales - first time since end of September and I have lost just over a stone since I started SW in the summer. Not fast but I have gone the right way!

Just had some yummy scrambled eggs for lunch with a piece of toast but didn't finish the toast, so saved on a sin or two there. (I've already allocated HEb's)

I'm over the mince pie incident now - I can't believe how cross I was with myself! Thanks for the kind supportive words ladies.

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

Feeling in a bit of a better slimming world mindset after my meeting this morning, weighed in at about 4lbs more than expected, but was wearing jeans which I never used to wear at weigh ins, so think I'll weigh in in my jeans next week then choose something more light-weight for the 3rd week. Got my usual stash of hi fi bars, (I like how I can combine something sweet with a healthy b) and I've stuck to it today, and just doing my diary online at the moment. Looking forward to seeing those numbers on the scales going down.

For those of you who crave chocolate I heard today at meeting that supposedly if you eat beetroot it takes away your craving...I'll be trying it next time a craving rears its ugly head. Beetroot mousse doesn't quite have the same ring to it though...

melda - I have done that in the past, worn loads of clothes to the first weigh in and gradually shed them over the weeks (not all of them obviously!) Helps the weight loss along.

A bit annoyed today as I finished up some toast that DS left but I ate it in a really unthinking way - something I thought I'd stopped - and so I've had too many syns today (about 25).

Anyway I am now going to try to have 100% days up until 23 Dec - there is no reason why I can't - and do lots of walking.

Well done to everybody who has lost, hi to everyone joining and lots of encouragement all round.
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

Ooh yum, I love beetroot but not in vinegar. You're right though, not sure I fancy beetroot cake :D

Welcome to Yellowbird and well done on your fantastic weight loss to date - over 6 stone if my calculations are right.....brilliant :T

Hello Ladies, I wonder if anyone can reassure me that I am doing this right

I started SW last night and the lady went through the original, green and extra easy plans

Anyway, I have had a go today on my own and I just like someone to have a look at what I have had a just tell me if I am on the right track!

I am doing a green day

Breakfast - fruit salad (fresh fruit chopped up) with a strawberry muller light = free

Lunch - Jacket potato and beans = free

Tea - Pasta with home made tomato and tuna sauce made with tinned toms, mushrooms, garlic, herbs, chilli powder and the amount of tuna for a healthy extra B (i did weight it, promise as I gave the rest of the tin to the cat!) and 28g of grated cheese on it for healthy extra A

I have had satsuma and a pear for snacks and milk allowance in tea for the second healthy extra A

However, I still have a healthy extra B to eat and syns, but I don't want to eat anymore food.

Do I HAVE to eat another healthy extra and my syns for the plan to work?

    Hi and welcome

No you dont have to eat both if you dont feel like it. The plan says between 1-2 healthy extras ie 1 of each or 2 if you want them. Theyre designed so you get enough fibre and calcium. You'll probably have them most days so as long as you try and have 1 of each (a&b) then you'll be fine.
I usually have a bit of toast and a wee glass of hot milk if I have any to use up, but ive usually had them fro brekkie and lunch.

Hello icebaby I have taken a quick look at your daily plan and it looks great for a green day. The syns are there to help you stick to the plan, sometimes life happens and we fancy eating something that isn't strictly healthy (like a mars bar!) so your syns are there for you to use and SW does encourage you to use them. As you get closer to goal weight your syns will reduce in number and if you havn't had any you have no where to reduce from!
As far as your HEB goes, they are there to ensure that you eat a healthy diet, with what you have had today so far you are doing fine, but generally speaking you should try and have your healthy extras.

    Good luck
