How about an extra easy day for the wedding?

Ok, so I have just been doing some calculations and we are basically skint!
I really want to continue with SW but cant afford the classes, so I'm going to go it alone, OH is doing it with me, but he'll probably still eat other things cos he can!
But we are on a really tight food budget, i'm talking £40 for 2 adults, one 5 year old and a 6 month old baby....is it really doable?
I find things like extra lean mince really expensive, so i'm going to try using just turkey mince from now on, but dont think it will work well with everything.

Yes I think I'd go for EE - then you're covered either way. Or you can always have neutral brekkie/lunch/tea before you go (mushroom omelette, cheese on toast, fruit salad & yoghurt) and decide when you get there!

If you don't mind quorn I would find somewhere where it's on offer and stock up on this - speed food on red or green and cheaper than meat! It is doable but you'll have to be careful as some lower brands do have low syns rather than free, but the value savoury rice is usually free - and a quarter of the price of Batchelors!

Hmmm, I think I could maybe get away with quorn mince, but OH wouldnt eat any of the other quorn stuff!
I make my own verison of savoury rice.

Hi, im in a similar situation to you, theres 2 of us doing SW and I have a 4 yr old and a 2yr old. I spend about £50 a week in a big shop (including nappies etc) i then spend around another £10 during the week for top upos (milk, bread etc) I dont buy much meat unlessits whoopsied, then I freeze it. I buy lots of quorn mince and quorn pieces when they are on offer. We live off of pasta, with tuna, cottage pie, spag bol, 3 bean chilli (the kids love this minus the chilli) and the odd meat, veg tatties. The kids eat most of what were eating. I think the most money I spend is on yoghurts for the kids and us, and the odd mugshot. I sit at night and plan the weekly shop, i check all the supermarkets and go to the one with the best deals on tins of toms etc (usually Asda is best overall). It can be done if you plan ahead, I think thats the key. And still make sure you squeeze in choccy biccies for a treat.

We have some sausages in the freezer that OH bought from a local farmers market about a month ago, there are loads of them. I don't want them to go to waste so was wondering how I would go about working out how many syns they have?
