Hi skint_catt
Just wondered which carbonara packet mix you use that's only 2 x syns? (Not joined properly yet, either SW group or this thread!!) but will post next week after I've joined and have the dreaded start weight! Just hoping to get a head start on shopping ready..
x
It's Schwartz Carbonara packet mix - it's 7syns for the whole packet but as there's two of us I halve it - so 2 syns each made up (well 1.75 rounded up!)0 -

I stayed the same this week.
I'm sorry but the couscous cake is not nearly as low syn as you think (which may be why you stayed the same this week).
Couscous is meant to be eaten as a meal in itself and therefore when used as a flour substitute (as in the case of this cake) it is considered 'misuse of free food'. As such, the couscous has to be synned at 5 syns per 28gms. If your Consultant is unaware of this, suggest to her that she double check with Head Office.
The link for the recipe page if it hasn't already been found is here:

Ally18 - It's rather more difficult if you are a bit 'picky' with your food, but still possible to eat well and enjoy your food. I would suggest that you either buy the 100 Free Original Recipes book from group (£2.95) or go to the website and look for Original day recipes. There's loads of choice but if you stick to the same old things day in, day out, you'll soon lose your motivation.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Also got this link to the recipe thread - not sure why there are two

Found these recipes too, which go together nicely with Scotch eggs as buffet food for the Christmas period:-
Cheesy pizza toasties
2 slices WW bread (HEB)
1 Tomato
2 Spring Onions
4 Mushrooms
¼ red and ¼ yellow pepper
42g Mozzarella Cheese (HEA)
Lightly toast the bread on both sides
Meanwhile, roughly chop the tomato, spring onions, mushrooms and red and yellow peppers. Grate the Mozzarella Cheese.
Top both slices of toast with the veg and scatter the cheese over. Place under a medium grill until the cheese bubbles and the veg are tender.
For extra taste spread 1tbsp of tomato puree on the toast under the veg (add half a syn for this)
Onion Rings
1 lb mild onions
3 egg whites
57gms dry wholemeal bread crumbs (HEB)
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon pepper
Cut onions into ½-inch slices; separate into rings and place in a bowl. Cover with ice water; soak for 30 minutes. Drain.
In a small mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. In another bowl, combine the bread crumbs, thyme, salt, paprika and pepper.
Divide the crumb mixture among three large re-sealable plastic bags. Dip a third of the onions in the egg whites; add a few rings at a time to crumb mixture and shake to coat. Place on a baking sheet coated with non-stick cooking spray. Repeat with remaining onions and crumb mixture. Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
catt - thanks for the curry recipe
for the person who asked about sausages - I like the morrisons own brand low fat pork sausages (from the chiller) which are free on redour nearest morrisons is 45mins away so I always buy a few packs and freeze them when I get home so I have them in for when I fancy some
for quorn sausages - I think the chilled ones taste better and cook better than the frozen ones - the cumberland ones are the nicest
just wanted to report that I am on day 3 of 100% on plan :j feeling really proud of myself for getting back in control of my eating againMum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j0 -
Hi Consultant, can I ask, was it you who posted a huge list of low syn/syn free sausages a while back?
Ive been trying to find it, as a few people have been talking about sausages. I think there was 2 lists, one had supermarket sausages and one had a list of local butchers that did syns free sausages? If you still have it, do you mind posting it again?
I love sausages, but I hate quorn ones, Joes are to expensive, Morrisons are a bit tasteless. If I remember correctly there was quite a few that were only 1-1 1/2 syns each, id like to give them ago.
thanks:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Someone asked about cooking salmon a while back on last thread. Sharwoods do a really nice spice mix especially for fish - about £1.30 or so. I use it on salmon baked in foil and it makes it taste a lot more interesting.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

This is a message for Ebony and other slow losers. A year or so ago, it took me near on 6 months to lose 10 lbs, admittedly had the odd splurge but in the main stuck to the plan.
I felt so much better but because I could not seem to get to the stone loss, I started to feel embarrassed and a failure. Everyone told me I looked great but for me it just was not enough!
So what did I do? Well I did quit smoking, which was a factor but I gave up and gained the whole lot steadily and surely until here I am plus another 2 pounds!
My advice. Be happy to lose slowly. It is good and keeping it off is really the main goal. Don't be daft like me and put yourself under pressure and then give up.
I am now trying to lose a stone. I would dearly love to be that original 10 lbs lighter that I was.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Can I just ask. Oats so Simple (original). Is this an HEB when made with water and not the milk as advised on the packet?
