    Hey there,

Am new to all of this, and have been given a mass of materials already (Syn list, Green and Red recipes etc etc).

The one thing I'm missing - and I'm told this is like the holy grail of Slimming World - is he Free Branded Foods book (ideally the 2009 version). Does anyone have a copy I can have (or can someone get hold of one for me so I don't have to pay the membership fee)? I'd be happy to buy it from somone not looking to make exorbitant profits from it..!

Drop me a line if you can help out!

    Mark

I think the food directory - which has the syn values for most branded things - also includes a free branded food section. The 08 one did anyway. For me, the directory is the essential book!

Forgot to get my chcken out of teh freezer :9 so no massive roast for me today! argh!

Have still managed to stick to my 100% week, even thogh I had a cuppy and a spiced german biccie with my gran! Ive allowed 6 syns for the biscuit - is this enough?

I have the free branded foods book - I do find it very useful! Wont be selling it though lol.

Most biccies are around 2.5ish syns (oat, gingernut etc) so 6 should be more than enough for one unless it was a huge german cookie!

Forgive me fellow Sw'ers - I have synned - BIG TIME!!!
Just added up everything I ate & drank yesterday - 107.5 syns  53 of those on alcohol  I did try not to drink (and had two glasses of diet coke) but once I get the taste for it....OH and I polished off 2 bottles of wine plus 2 glasses of champagne EACH!!
And yes I was very very ill last night...........:o so I actually hope 50 of those syns aren't in my system anymore  TMI? :rotfl:
Apart from the alcohol the food was pretty much SW perfect (until the evenng buffet........damn that wine for hiding my willpower )!
Anyhoo, had been careful last week leading up to it and being careful today & tomorrow before WI on Tuesday so I'm hoping the damage will be minimal!
    Forgive me?;)

I made some flapjacks, they turned out more like biscuits! lol oh well, with some melted chocolate on top they look ok and OH liked his sample so all's not lost. Just hope my work mates like them tomorrow!

Anyway, I'm wondering if there's a way of working out how many syns they have? I used the following to make 16:

    400gr porridge oats
2 table spoons of maple syrup
    1 tablespoon of cocoa
    75gm of muscavado sugar
225 grm of low fat spread
100grm of milk chocolate for the topping.

Any ideas how to work out the syns in that lot?

    You are forgiven :p
We have all been there though aint we, I reckon we deserve a day off somethimes to kick us up the behind.

I made a really nice dinner, consisting of, chicken in the slow cooker, roasted new potatoes with garlic and rosemary, brussel sprouts, sweetcorn, carrots, and a smal portion of cauliflower cheese (it's the frozen stuff from icelnd, something like 7.5 syns for 340g so I done 85g instead :D) Plus some nice thick gravy.

Is gravy really only 1 syn for 4 TABLESPOONS, thats alot! I only used 2 tablespoons and that was for me and my 2 boys (one being a baby)lol

Going to work out all the syns when the boys are in bed.

Hello Flat Eric great to see you back. :hello::j

Were your ears burning? We were talking about you and Angie loves veg recently wondering where you'd gone and saying how good you both were for ideas and motivation. Great to see you reached target welldone.
Hope you dont mind me copying all your stuff over to the first page of the new thread, it was all good info and couldnt of written it any better.
cant answer yoghurt question sorry, just saying hi .

Thanks for message! No its fine to paste stuff :D.

I suppose I stopped posting (to be honest) because I was reading posts from people who were sticking to the plan 100% and quite simply I wasn't..... so I felt like a fraud. Ive lost my SW mojo in a big way and its been like that for months. I need to go back to basics and thats my plan. Its not going to happen overnight but I have some ideas and I hope to stop the bad habits that have crept back in from taking over (especially with christmas coming up) I weighed out of target range on Tuesday and I dont think I have done what is needed to shift that rogue pound but if I have to pay then so be it! It will teach me the lesson that is very much needed!!

Thanks for that! I've just checked myself after realising I could do so online and I make them to be 13 syns each. Brilliant! I've been able to indulge and still had a 100% day :D

Can someone please tell me if I've followed the plan ok today? I feel stuffed even before dinner and find it hard to believe I'm going to lose any weight!

Breakfast - mushrooms, scrambled eggs, wholemeal toast and baked beans
Lunch - packet of batchelors pasta n sauce, cheese and brocolli type with two quorn sausages
Dinner - Aubergine pasta bake topped with a little cheddar

I've had milk in my tea and about 12/13 syns in one of my home made flapjacks/biscuits

    Sound ok?

Cheated a little - counted brown sugar as muscavado isn't online!
