  • might give this a go for tomorrow

    fruit breakfast recipe:

Get a tupperware box, put some scan bran in the bottom, fill with some frozen fruits and then a mullerlight yoghurt. Put it in the fridge overnight and in the morning stir it all up together. It looks like a right mess but tastes delicious!

I just need to count the syns for the scan bran right?

if it doesn't work I might give a bigger portion of breakfast rice a shot ;)

had this for brekkie this morning and it was quite nice

did frozen raspberries (£1 a pack for delmonte raspberries at tesco at the mo ;) ) and a raspberry & cranberry mullerlight. I put 4 scan bran in the bottom of a plastic takeaway box, covered with raspberries and the yog then put in fridge overnight.

I discovered you only actually need 2 scan bran for this recipe cos only the top scan bran were soft, the bottom ones were still rock hard! So I scraped off the fruit/yog/top layer scan bran into a bowl and mixed it up - YUM! a lovely filling brekkie for 1 syn! :D and I still have my HEB for later

the 2 bottom layer scan bran have been made into another scan bran cake - waste not want not LOL

    Hey there,

Am new to all of this, and have been given a mass of materials already (Syn list, Green and Red recipes etc etc).

The one thing I'm missing - and I'm told this is like the holy grail of Slimming World - is he Free Branded Foods book (ideally the 2009 version). Does anyone have a copy I can have (or can someone get hold of one for me so I don't have to pay the membership fee)? I'd be happy to buy it from somone not looking to make exorbitant profits from it..!

Drop me a line if you can help out!

    Mark

The only 'holy grail' of SW is your Food Optimising book - the one with all the Healthy Extras/Free Food in it. I don't know anyone who has the free branded food book!

    Afternoon guys.

I'm going to make a pizza base out of wholemeal flour for tonight's tea, as 57g cooked is a HEb. Does anyone have any idea of what the weight of the flour or dough would be pre-baking to get it to 57g when cooked? I'm clueless.

75g dry mix makes a pizza base which is 2 HEb's - so 37.5g would make one HEb worth - though the double one is only just bigger than a pitta bread size!
Wholemeal flour per se isn't a HEb - it's only the one I put a link to which has been deemed by SW to be good enough. Tesco Crusty Wholemeal Breadmix I think.

Thanks :) That's really helpful. I confess I went out and bought that flour so I could try it. I only like really, really thin pizzas anyway so I'm planning on rolling it as thin as it'll go. I usually use about 50g of normal pizza base mix and can usually get that to stretch over a whole baking tray... we'll see though! I might add something to it like herbs and sunblushed tomatoes or parmesan (for some syns) to make it more interesting!

Although... hang on... should it be 57g of the base's cooked weight rather than the dried weight? Agh - confused.

    From minimins;
"I made another pizza today with less breadmix – for info, 75g of mix will make a base that weighs around 115g – which is just about 2 HEbs. It will make a base that is about the size of a pitta and a half, squished into a circle shape. This is about the size of the inner circle of a regular sized dinner plate. Pile it high with SUPERFREE toppings and serve with a side salad and you’re good to go!!"
  • Forgot to get my chcken out of teh freezer :9 so no massive roast for me today! argh!

Have still managed to stick to my 100% week, even thogh I had a cuppy and a spiced german biccie with my gran! Ive allowed 6 syns for the biscuit - is this enough?

I have the free branded foods book - I do find it very useful! Wont be selling it though lol.
