    I was wondering something similar recently. My oh was having a chicken chow mein on a extra easy day. In the food optimising book it says 7syns for a green day (red is huge though) so surely if chicken is free on EE then the it should work out as 1 syn. Your asking if it is 1 syn on green if you use your chicken as heb? Im thinking yes to both, as long as the weight of the chow mein is still what it says in the book. I dont have infront of me to check, but I think its 300g odd.
    1lb off for me last night :j very happy after gaining 3wks in a row and having a small slip up involving trick or treat chocs on sat and a McDs on sunday :o

    just glad to break the upwards trend and hoping to lose another 1lb next week

    can anyone confirm that if you have chicken chow mein on a green day you can swap 6 syns for a HEB? (like you can with a readymade wholemeal sandwich for eg) It would be really handy to know that if you're running low on syns you can have a 1syn takeaway! :D thanks xx

    They often put "the average" syn value in the book & they round it up so that people are not caught out.

    Onken fat free & Yeo valley- flavoured varieties are 0.5 syns per 100g & although this is low synned as these are in large tubs it is easy to over consume.

    As you go to class,read the mag& check the website you get used to the brands that are free.

    If you are not sure ask your consultant (or someone on here-they generally know or will look it up for you)

    i lost 2 & a half
    last thurs
    got my stone award ........ club 10
    very pleased apprx 12- 14 lbs to go
    can i do it for xmas / new year :confused:

    Hay all - have been away for a week or so - and am now back with a vengeance. 100% days here I come. This is make or break week - if I can't get myself together and stick to the plan I will have to go back to class, and spend money I need to save.

    Whats everyone having for tea then?
    I'm having Morrissons syn free sausages with Mash and red onion gravy.
    I was suprised at how much gravy you can get out of 4 level TBSP's.
    I was going to do 'fake' mash, got the box out and it was bloody empty! :(

  • Im having wild mushroom risotto! After my WI though, which I am heading out to in an hour.
  • i'm having pork chops, new pots a veg. then i might allow myself a mini bar of chocolate after the crappy day i've had! then i'll have to start studying!
