Hi everyone,
A belated happy New Year. I lost 6lbs in the month before Christmas, and managed to put every single one back on over the Christmas period. Feel stupid that I let it happen and haven't managed to get the impetus to start again although it's always in my head that I should or shouldn't be eating certain things on certain days!! I just feel so 'can't be bothered' all the time, probably through my serious lack of exercise!
I suppose I should be grateful that the Christmas 6lbs wasn't on top of my previous weight....I don't feel all that grateful!!! Anyway....new year, new me...! I love reading all the posts on here, they are my only motivation so thanks everyone!0 -
SKINCATT , hi hun :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:, please don't be hard on yourself , please just keep trying and you will get there .
Have you thought about going to your doctor and seeing if your gluten intolerant, as my mother in law last weight years ago and put some back on and tried again and found it very hard to lose and it turned out she was gluten intolerant .
Its not just things like bread , pasta , theres gluten in gravy ,soups , and even some fruits upset her diet, so now she has a list of things from her doctor , who sent her to see a specalist , she aplys to her s/w diet and its turned everything around for her .

I am from Cardiff!
Ice, where do you live? My friend lives in Bettws & she often can't get to work in cardiff in the winter. Doesn't help that her drive is down a slope as well!
Well, I was naughty today. 19 syns. 2 crunchies. DS1 decided he didn't like them. He gave them to me. Why I ate them both I don't know. I am cross with myself.
Other than that, had a rare red day. Had a tuna steak for dinner, yum!
That mugshot has set my IBS off something terrible though, so I def won't be having one of those again.
I have just done an hour on the wii fit, hopefully that'll help & I'll get on again tomorrow morning.
Right, just lunchboxes to make...bottles to do...DW to empty...reload DW....my life is so exciting...

Any ideas for brekkie for someone who can't handle hot food in the morning? The obvious seems to be weetabix but I don't want to use up my milk allowance on this when I drink tea through the day, i really don't do cereal with water or diet coke!
Also where do you get quark cheese from? Can't find it at work (in asda), is it a specialist food or only available at a certain chain?0 -
Quark is available at Asda, Sainsbury, Tesco etc - it's with the Dairylea & other soft cheeses in a round tub. I used to spend forever looking for it but see it easily now!
What about a cold breakfast quiche GlasweJen? You can make it in the morning - chopped sausage (syn if not free), chopped bacon & mushrooms in egg cooked for 40mins. YUM!0 -
Katty I was pretty much the same, I'd lost 9lbs pre christmas, then put 7lbs on over 2 weeks, had to miss weigh in last week as I was away in belgium....lots of cheese and bread due to being veggie, so I started back on track yesterday, feel much better for it, liking the feeling of being in control again. I keep telling myself the same, if I hadn't have lost that 9lbs before christmas I would be so much worse off now, so just leave it behind, it's a new year it'll probably come off fairly fast again...
Itchiefeet I'm veggie so I do all green days, I need fast breakfasts too generally, so you could easily grab a banana/some fruit and a syn free yoghurt and take it in to work to eat, or some cereal as a HEb if you're able to either eat it at home or have milk at work. I've done SW before, but this time I looked over the cereal choices for HeB's again, and found that you can have 28g of cereals such as sainsburys apricot wheats, they're really tasty. I weighed 28g the first day, and it equalled 17-18 single wheats, so I just quickly count those out each day, takes 5 seconds, put in some of my milk allowance, chop a banana in and thats fairly fast for me. In the winter I put it in the microwave for 20 secs to warm it up a bit.
For lunches you could make soup and take it in a thermos? i often have jacket potato and beans, but it might be more of a fuss if you're taking your own bits. I think something I'd consider would be things like a veg risotto or some pasta in homemade sauce, tasty enough to eat when cold but you could also chuck it into the microwave for a minute or so when you're in the office. Make a large batch of the sauce, so it does a few days...maybe freeze some for the next week so you're not having the same thing every day, and just cook your pasta the night before and stir in. These are more winter friendly options, I never fancy a cold salad at this time of year, but love one in the summer with a few olives and some feta cheese as a HEa.
When my mam was on the diet she used to take a packet of savory rice she'd cooked the night before and something like grapes. Not sure if the savory rice's are still free as I haven't been eating them this time round? Take about 20 minutes and they're good to eat cold the next day.0lbs/18lbs to get to club 100 -

Do you know i've never actually tried quiche. Quite like the idea of the fruit and a yoghurt for breakfast, i'm not a morning eater at all but i need to eat something or else i'll end up eating chocolate with my tea later on in the day and that's a disaster.0
