Quick question, I'm going to my first group tomorrow and need to know. On the website for the instructor she's got 2 times for the class I want to go to in this format:
Community Hall
Local Road,
Glasgow
Tuesdays 5:30 PM, 7:00 PM
does that mean there's 2 classes, one at half five and the other at seven? I just got told i need to work til 5 tomorrow so i'll not get there in time for the half 5 class i was planning on going to.
Ys, this is two classes, one starting at 5.30 and the other at 7pm. If you start going to the 7pm, one (which will be more convenient this week) you can go to either class in the future. It's great for anyone with flexible finishing times. The Consultant will have all the weight record cards for both groups with her/him, so it won't make a difference which group you attend.
Enjoy your group, they're usually fun and informative and everyone is there for the same purpose (even the Consultant!).I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Also, forgot to get the password in class last night - does anyone know what day last weeks password will stop being valid online? Really annoyed cos I use the website all the time!
As Nic said, the password works for almost 2 weeks so last weeks will work for you until Friday of this week. Text your Consultant, she will be happy to helpI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Skint_Catt, I hope you didn't think I was picking at you
I know how fed-up you are, and I also know that you've done the plan with great success in the past and this is what leads me to think that, somewhere, you're sabotaging yourself. It's much easier than you may think and even very small anomalies add up over a week (½ syn here and ½ syn there) which can stop you losing.
As you said yourself, use SS foods to the max, make sure you're eating enough free foods, drink lots of water, try to incorporate Scan Bran into your daily diet (though not in the form of cake if possible).
I've honestly never come across anybody who doesn't lose weight from Food Optimising unless there is a medical reason, which is incredibly rare. Occasionally someone's losses are slow, but they always lose.
If you go down a VLC route to weight loss, I can almost guarantee that the weight will go back on as soon as you start to eat normally. They are such unhealthy diets, that you may be slim for your wedding day but you may feel too weak to enjoy it. Also remember, that very fast weight loss can leave you with copious amounts of loose skin (a most unattractive look IMO).
I have a list of common self-sabotage points. I'll look for it and post it up. I hope it may help you and some others who are struggling.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
There are lots of reasons why members might not have lost weight in a particular week. Each of these common reasons is unlikely to ruin a member’s weight loss on their own - but one or two together on a regular basis would.Using heaped instead of level spoonfuls. Believe it or not, flour is 3½ Syns per 20g level tablespoon - a heaped tablespoon is double!
Not trimming/draining off the fat from meat, or taking the skin off chicken - it adds Syns to what could be completely Free and unlimited food!
Pre-frying vegetables for omelettes, chillies or curries etc. Remember, 1 level tablespoon of fat or oil is 6 Syns!
Yorkshire puddings - 3 Syns per ounce! Most are 2 ounces, and remember to include the fat in the roasting pan - this can bump it up to 8 Syns per pud!
Pasta on an Original day - 5 Syns per ounce before cooking, 1½ Syns per ounce after cooking. Beware! Fresh pasta (as opposed to dry) on a Green day may need to be counted as Syns. Check it out!
"Forgotten" regulars, eg a small glass (142ml) of orange juice for breakfast (2½ Syns). Do you write it down?
Sugar or milk in tea or coffee - it really adds up! Beware, vending machine drinks have Syns and takeaway hot drinks are even higher! Eg a skimmed milk Latte can add up to 8 Syns or more!
Buying your sandwiches? Hidden mayo, coleslaw and cream cheese fillings could add as much as 12 Syns!
Using full cream or semi-skimmed milk? Remember, per pint the Syn values are: full cream = 18½ Syns, semi-skimmed = 13 Syns, skimmed = 9½ Syns, and for a dash of milk in a cuppa: 1½ Syns, 1 Syn or ½ Syn respectively.
Eating out? Check for butter on the vegetables or hiding in sauces. If you don't want to count it, just ask for your meal without.
Guessing weights of Healthy Extras or Syns. (An extra ½oz of bran flakes each morning can add an extra 3 Syns each day!)
Thinking that breakfast cereals like Rice Krispies are Healthy Extras – they don’t have enough fibre to be a Healthy Extra, and they’ll add 5½ Syns per 1oz/28g!
Swapping granary or white bread as a Healthy Extra. Just one thin slice can be 4½ Syns – and if you slice your own, that can increase to a whopping 8-10 Syns!
Guessing your milk allowance. A splash of milk in each cup of tea or coffee – ½ Syns each – and on your breakfast cereal – without measuring - could see you adding an extra 3 or more Syns.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

great post consultant, I do at least 2 or 3 of those things al the time. I guess my milk in my tea. I only measure milk if im having cereal.
quite often ignore that extra 1/2 oz of cereal (or pop it in my mouth after taking it out the :obowl )
I NEVER measure my spread, I just look at it and judge a tsp.
Im going to make more of an effort. These are the kinds of things I was meaning when I said to Catt about, when you first do the plan you are strict and dont stray. but after doing it a while you get sneaky and lazy, not on purpose I may add, its more subconsious.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
I texted my consultant last week to ask for the password, as I had forgotten to look and she didnt reply, also phoned her twice and she didnt pick up...Not very impressed0

Okay so Day 1 went well, had both my HEA and HEB's plus 8 syns.
Today is either going to be good or bad! I had made plans to have dinner with my friends tonight before I started SW. It was my friend's choice (we take it in turns) and she has chosen Pizza Express! Eek! However (and I feel bad for saying this!) we have snow forecast so if it starts then I'll cancel.
B - Shreddies and Skimmed Milk - HEA and HEB
L - Pasta and salad, muller light, hard boiled egg.
D - ? Pizza Express or if not that then stirfry veg, tofu with soy sauce and dried egg noodles
S - clementines, apple, pear, pineapple
Still need another HEA and HEB - will think on that! oh and i'm doing green
