We are having EE and having spicy mince (extra lean mince with, garlic, peppers, onions, cumin, cardommen, corriander, curry powder and chilli) served with savoury rice and wrapped in iceberg lettuce leaves. its a sort of healthy burrito.

  • Hello...again....

Well once again I will be back on the SW wagon as of tomorrow. I've done well on SW before but after 2 bereavements last year I put the weight back on. I need to lose a considerable amount but am going to take it pound by pound and in half stone sections. I am doing SW myself as I would rather spend the money on exercise classes or fresh veg/fruit.

I am veggie so do green days but if there are any SW veggies who do EE could you kindly tell me how it goes for you? EE confuses me but it seems now that in the SW mag they only ever promote EE and the recipes look nice.

I aim to post on here most days. I will WI myself Monday mornings. I have chosen to start tomorrow as I've just come back from hols in New Zealand so needed a few days back to get over jet lag. Plus I start back at work tomorrow. I will aim to walk to work daily (20mins walk to work).

Hopefully this time I will stick with it!

    Hi and welcome back
I dont think you could do EE being veggie. there would be no benefit. EE means you can mix red and green days together ie meat and potatoes.

  • Hi guys,

Just had my tea. Had half a packet of ASDA Good For You Red Pepper and Balsamic Tortelloni (4 syns on Green) with some of my tomato and veggy sauce.

I didn't think half a packet would be enough (eyes bigger than belly syndrome!), but as it turns out I couldn't even eat it all!!

Stuffed now but it was gorgeous.

Been out this afternoon and stocked up on loads of lovely fresh fruit and veggies. Can't seem to get enough of clementines at the moment, they're so nice.

Hi to flutterbyuk, Hope you manage to walk to work ok in this weather! Seems to be thawing a bit now though :)

I'm back at work tomorrow after 2 weeks off, hmmmmm! Would rather stay at home, but will be taking loads of fruit and some spicy butternut squash soup with me.
Thinking of investing in a food flask so I can take in some hot pasta dishes etc.

Could someone be very kind and tell me what Marion's rice is?
    :D

It is the best SW recipe I have ever tried :T

..not much to it preparation wise...but fills me up and can be so varied.

Bought some pudding rice which I will soak overnight to make Marions yummy sounding breakfast.

Hi, I know everyone cooks pudding rice differently, but thought I would let you know what i do re marion's rice.

I just measure half cup of rice to 1 cup (and a bit) of boiling water. Then simmer for 20 mins, or until rice soft enough (then add the extras)..no need to soak overnight :)

Having another OK EE day today - noodles, peas and sweetcorn for breakfast and a lamb stew and baked potatoes (with loads of marg - a weakness but all counted) for dinner.
Just a quick question which I should know - is pudding rice the same as Arborio rice? I've got some of that and some Mullerlites now they're on offer - would this work for the breakfast rice?
    Thanks
