I've done something I know I shouldn't have and am upset now!!

I started SW again on Weds and have done EE each day. I have eaten loads of superfree and stuck to the plan religiously.
However, today I weighed myself (I know I should wait till weigh in!) and I've put 2 pounds on. I'm gutted.

When I did sw 18 mths ago I lost 7 pounds the 1st week and never ever lost less than 3pounds a week and the only thing I'm doing differently now is EE rather than red/green.

I'm wondering if ee is going to work for me. I really like it though. Has anyone else experienced this?

As you probably know a healthy loss is 1-2 lbs a week. Most people do lose a lot in their first week, but that is mainly water and change of eating habits (more fruit etc). Its not always a huge loss.
Weighing yourself mid week is a no no, it just puts a downer on your day and then you can go off the rails. Your weight can go up and down by as much as 2 lbs throughout the day. My advice is put the scales in the loft and keep doing what your doing. I personally like the anticipation on WI day ( im also Wed ). If your sticking to the plan, which you seem to be, you will definently lose come Wednesday.

    Hi all

does anyone have any example meal plans for red days?

Also, I fancy making a veg curry this week - does anyone have a good basic recipe?

    Original menu planner:

Choose 1 breakfast, 1 lunch & 1 dinner each day (healthy extras are built in)

    Continental brunch
Whatever time you tuck into to breakfast, enjoy a bread roll* piled high with sliced ham andvery low fat natural cottage cheese, plus a selection of fresh fruitand a pot of very low fat natural fromage frais.

    Raspberry crunch brunch
Fancy a fry up? Start your brekkie with 28g Shredded Wheat Honey Nut topped with fresh or frozen raspberriesand milk from the allowance. Then fill up on stacks of grilled bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and lashings of scrambled egg.

    Mackerel on toast
Start your Original day with fresh orange and grapefruit segments followed by 2 slices of toast* topped with lots of grilled mackerel fillets or canned mackerel in tomato sauce and freshtomato wedges.

    Tower burger
If you thought burgers were a no-no, this guilt-free lunch will come as a pleasant surprise. Enjoy a bread roll* piled high with a large home-made beef burger (lean minced beef, grated onion, herbs, seasoningand a little beaten egg formed into a burger and fried in Fry Light), mixed green leaves, slicedtomatoes, onion and gherkins – you could even add a few rashers of lean bacon if you fancy! Finish your lunch with a banana and a pot of Free yogurt, any variety.

    Salmon roll
If you eat a packed lunch, fill (and we do mean fill) a bread roll* with drained, cannedsalmon mixed with finely chopped spring onions, verylow fat natural fromage frais, herbs and seasoning to taste and loads of salad leaves. If you’re eating at home and don’t fancy a sandwich, swap the bread roll for a 227g baked potato. Fresh fruit for pudding or snacking.

    Chicken kebabs
Marinade chunks of chicken, red onion and mixedpeppers in lemon juice, garlic and seasoning and grill until cooked through. Serve with a large mixed salad and 198g new potatoes boiled in their skins. If you’re not near a cooker at lunchtime, prepare in advance, chill until required and enjoy cold as a gourmet potato salad!

    Tuna fish
Marinate a large tuna steak in lime juice, a pinch of paprika, 1 tbsp soy sauce and seasoning then grill or barbecue until cooked through. Top with a salsa consisting of finely chopped tomatoes, red onion, redpepper and corianderand serve with a large salad or Free vegetables of your choice.

    Gammon & pineapple
For dinner pile your plate with tender grilled gammon topped with a ring of canned pineapple (canned in juice - 1 Syn) or chopped fresh pineapple (which is Free) and freshly choppedherbs. Serve with loads of roasted mixed peppers, onion wedges, carrots and mashed Swede.

    Fruity pork salad
For dinner mix plenty of bite sized pieces of grilled porkwith chopped orange, grapes, cucumber, tomato and red pepper. Serve on a bed of crisp greensalad leaves and drizzle with a fat-free French dressing – delicious! For dessert enjoy a few fresh plums and a pot of Rowntree’s Low Sugar Ready to Eat Jelly (½ Syn).

*bread = 2 slices from small wholemeal loaf or 57gm wholemeal bread roll

    Syn free curry sauce.

    1 Onion
    2 cloves Garlic
    1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
    400g tin chopped tomatoes
    57ml/2fl oz veg stock
    2 tbspn sweetener
    57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or Quark/fromage frais
    1tbspn chopped mint
    1 tbspn chopped coriander

Chop onions and crush garlic. Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder.
Stir and cook for another couple of mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then add quark/yoghurt/fromage frais and herbs.

    Hope these help :)

just noticed you just had 1 slice of nimble for brekkie. You can have 2 slices of 400g (small) loaf for your heb. So if you havnt used it somewhere else, you can go and have that piece of bread your craving.

Thanks for the tip! :) Although, with this one I was on the ball and I had my other slice along with dinner! :) Cant have soup and not dip a slice of bread in!!! :o:cool:

  • I shall have to work extra hard on the wii fit tomorrow. It's my fault for the crunchie as the kids have loads left over from xmas & I said to my son I'd eat his all up. So he offered me one....I said no but he insisted. It would have been rude not to have accepted really ;)

Well, despite me promising to be good the rest of the day after the fish finger debarcle this morning, I didnt manage it.

I went to Morrisons and bought a salad from the salad bar. Pasta all covered in different stuff, croutons, bacon bits, the lot.

I do feel really down today and I have noticed a definate pattern of my moods and my eating habits. Does anyone else experience this and what do you do?

cant really comment Ice as im only on my 3rd day of the diet. but i would hazard a guess that my mood definitely does affect my eating habits.
tonight im quite bored. OH has his 2 friends over all playing the playstation, so i keep thinking about crisps n chocolate left over from christmas. normally i would be well into them already, but i have kept out of it!
I used my Syns on 2 glasses wine tonight and had some butter this morning.
Think im gonna make a cuppa tea and leve the boys to it. go up to bed and watch Gordon Ramseys F Word that I missed on Tues and Thurs..

....but then Ill be watching a food programme, and they ALWAYS make me hungry! And i really dont fancy fruit!!!! :S

Is it just me or does anyone else feel really hungry all the time during this cold weather?! I've had a tonne of food today and I still have the munchies, I'm hoping a hot cup of tea will settle my tummy
