Hi Everyone - I have just compelted my second day on EE and still finding it a bit difficult (really want to have a piece of bread and butter.....:o) Today I have had:

Breakfast: 1 caramel snack a jack with banana (2.5 syns)

Lunch: Tuna in brine, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, spring onions
cold pasta - all mixed up with vff cottage cheese with onion
and chives and 2tbs Heinz salad cream light (4 syns); 1 pear
I made pasta with colemans packet cheese sauce for DD2
and it smelled so lovely that I couldn't resist eating
about 3 mouthfuls so I will count that as 5 syns.

Dinner: hot pot made of extra lean stewing beef, chopped carrots,
celery, onions, parsnips and potatoes - cooked in oxo with
chopped leeks and dried thyme; melon chunks

HeA and B will be 2 weetabix and milk for my supper.

Does this sound okay? I have to say that the hotpot was absolutely delicious - normally I fry the meat first and dot the potatoes on top with butter, but today I did neither and it was still lovely! Didn't feel like diet food at all.

Hope you are all having a good evening!

Sounds OK to me! Your hotpot sounds good, I made a beefstew - well casserole actually since I cooked in in the oven. Nice way of warming up the kitchen and it tasted lovely! I just combined some stewing beef, chopped up onions, carrots, celery and potatoes, poured over a tin of chopped tomatoes and a cup of hot water with oxo cube dissolved in. Cooked it long and slow for about 3 hours and the meat was nice and tender - plus the whole thing was free!:T:j

  • well i maintained tonight, i was a little gutted as i know i haven't gone mad on any day. i came home and looked very carefully what i have eaten today(first time in ages i have done a food diary) and found i have 13.5 syns without even thinking about it!
so now I'm going to read my new books, and start to write everything down again so this is my first week again.
At last I have a signature.

Its best to try and have you syns and all Healthy extras. I have around 10 syns per day, but you can have 5-15 each day. Its best to have at least 5, so you are having a treat and not depriving yourself.

Healthy extras provide you with fibre and calcium. So for a healthy balanced diet, then yes you should try and eat them.

  • Hi all,

First of all well done to everyone for keeping at it! I’ve officially been on the plan a week tomorrow as I started on New Year’s Day (joined the online plan).

So, tomorrow is my very first weigh in! To be honest I’m really enjoying it as it makes me think more about what I am eating, and I’ve prepared some really lovely meals.
I’ve eaten plenty and not felt deprived at all, but it’s all been good stuff!

Anyway, I hope you don’t mind but I thought I’d share a recipe I threw together yesterday, as I enjoyed it so much.

It’s a Chinese vegetable noodle stir fry with Quorn chunks, and serves 2 (or one very hungry person with a bit left over!). I'm mainly following the Green choice, and just used what I could find in the fridge!

    Fry Light
    2 or 3 Garlic cloves
    Knob of Fresh ginger
    ½ Medium red chilli
    1 Onion
    Handful White Cabbage, chopped
    Handful Mushrooms
    1Red pepper
    1Green pepper
    Handful Quorn pieces
    Soy sauce
    Oyster sauce
    Sweet chilli sauce
Medium egg noodles – half a packet
    Black Pepper

Chop your veg and stir fry in fry light with the Quorn, so veg is still a bit crisp. Add in about a tbsp soy sauce, 1 or 2 tbspns oyster sauce (this is ½ syn per tbsp), and a teaspoon or 2 or sweet chilli sauce (1/2 syn per teaspoon). Stir and heat through.

Toss in boiled and drained egg noodles, season with black pepper and enjoy!

Anyway, hope I find I’ve lost weight tomorrow! ;)

Good luck with your weigh in new_me! That stir fry sounds great, I might make one tomorrow - but will probably use steak instead of quorn:o:T! Love that EE:T

Make sure you come back after weigh in and let us know how you did!

Felt like a couch-bound slug today, so got brave and skidded my way to the gymn this evening. Felt SO MUCH better afterwards - like a new Rupe!

Stucking to EE this week - THINK I have got the hang of it now - and am just enjoying seeing my tummy get smaller already:j:jI was starting to look pregnant - which is nice if you actually are, but not so great when its just excess pud:rotfl:
