I have just seen in Sainburys they now do be good to yourself cottage cheese in yoghurt pots. Perfect to take to lunch at work, and if you only want one every now and then without eating the whole pot before it goes mouldy.

Yeah they're just 100g - less than half a muller (I think!) - perfick! And all are free! :D

Just ventured out in the snow to WI and it's taken me 2.5 hours to get home (5 miles) :(:(

Good news is a) I maintained even though i didn't get back to plan until Sunday (and I binged yesterday) and mullers are still free according to my SWC! :j

Use passata instead of the puree to make it syn free (from the quorn website)

Or this from the SW website - I always double up for a quick meal from the freezer for another night! Just substitute meat for Quorn and add a little extra passata/liquid

This scrumptious version of the Mexican classic means that whether you choose beef mince as Free Food or a Healthy Extra you can enjoy a huge plateful of chilli and a mountain of rice
or a jacket potato!

Serves: 4
Syns per serving:
3 Syns on Original, 2 Syns on Green*
Free on Extra Easy
*If not using beef as a Healthy Extra add 6 Syns per serving
Hints: A dollop of fat free natural yogurt on the top is extremely tasty and, if you’ve gone overboard on the chilli, it’s a great way to “cool” things down!
Replacing beef mince with Quorn mince, and swapping Bovril for Vecon or Marmite turns this recipe into a vegetarian delight. The 3 saintly Syns stay the same on Original and the whole recipe becomes Free on Green!

subtitle_ingredients.gif
Fry Light, for spraying
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 fresh chillies, deseeded and chopped
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp paprika
a pinch of cayenne pepper
1 x 397g/14oz can chopped tomatoes
1 level tbsp tomato puree
284ml/½ pint beef stock made with Bovril from the jar
salt and ground black pepper
454g/1lb extra lean beef, minced
1 x 198g/7oz can red kidney beans, drained
fresh coriander leaves, to garnish

subtitle_method.gif
1. Spray a large saucepan with Fry Light and fry the minced beef until brown. Drain off the fat. Add the onion to the mince and cook gently until softened.
2. Add the garlic, chillies and all the spices and continue frying, stirring occasionally, for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the canned tomatoes, tomato puree and stock. Stir well and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes, until the liquid is slightly reduced.
4. Season with salt and pepper and add the drained kidney beans. Heat through gently for about 5 minutes.
5. Serve hot, sprinkled with chopped coriander leaves, with some plain boiled rice (2 Syns per 28g/1oz on Original) and a green salad.

• Went on the wii fot for the 1st time earlier.

I am in a healthy bmi weight.

But I can't balance so it gave me an age of 46. I am 35.

Are Activia Fat Free still free?

I e-mailed my consulant (who hasn't got back re the activia!) & as I don't do EE I don't need the new pack.

So I'm goint to carry on as I have done.

Will a little help from the wii fit.

I have 9lbs to target. Was 6lbs before christmas!

We should be able to work it out for you - put the recipe on here and we will give it a go!

Marion

Chestnut and Chocolate cake

Serves 16

1 tbsp vegetable oil for greasing
250g plain flour
120g cocoa powder plus extra for dusting
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
230g caster sugar
pinch of salt
2 tsp vanilla extract
260g chestnut puree
2 eggs
230ml skimmed milk
230ml cold strong coffee preferably espresso

Grease a 22cm-23cm cake tin with the oil (using a loose-based cake tin make tin will make life easier) and preheat the oven to 180C/106C fan/gas 4.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda into a large bowl. Add the sugar, salt, vanilla extract, chestnut puree and eggs. Pour in the milk and mix until well combined. Lastly, mix in the coffee.
Pour the mixture into the cake tin and bake in the middle of the oven for about 45 minutes. To check the cake is cooked, insert a skewer at the centre: it should come out clean.
Leave the cake to rest for 5 minutes before turning out on to a large serving plate. Dust the top with the cocoa powder and cut into 16 wedges before serving.

If someone could tell me how many syns this cake would be I'd be very grateful.

Yes, activia are still free Lisa :D

I'm loving my Wii Fit Plus - more than 'Your Shape' which nearly killed me yesterday!!

I did buy the new pack as I've decided to give EE a go and see what happens. The trouble is I'm not going out again until this snows gone (I've only just stopped shaking from my long drive home this morning) and although I have loads of frozen veg, I have no fruit in. Snacks will just have to be free rather than superfree until I can get to a shop!
