The thing is I do prefer green days - I love noodles and rice and pasta but if I want to get going a bit on the weight loss I am better having red days as I do end up eating less. If my motivation slips a bit I go back to green - for me more comforting - days!

The evening of red days can be a bit of a problem but I always get fruit and a low fat yogurt (I love banana and vanilla Mullerlite as a snack but I don't buy Mullerlites very often - too expensive!). Then I use a bit of willpower and remember I'll be pleased with myself in the morning if I've had another good day!

I really have not got my head around extra easy..I'll go and have a read.
    Hi there,

I think you can have own-brand yogs as long as they are fat free - maybe someone who knows more will correct this if wrong - but much cheaper. In fact some are just as nice actually, and some don't have any artificial sweeteners in them either.

    Anyone recommend any?

After planning to have more red days I ended up having a green day today and I had pasta for breakfast!

Overall it went OK and this evening I managed to resist eating up some of DD1's chinese food.

When I've bought something like a takeaway - even if it's not for me - I hate throwing any away and I still feel I have to eat it all to get my money's worth! - the kind of thinking that can trip me up f I'm not careful!

I was tempted by cheese and biscuits this evening but I resisted and had home made soup and wholemeal bread for dinner instead. I feel so proud of myself!

We're having a day out tomorrow and fancy Nandos for lunch, if I have a quarter chicken, salad and sweetcorn will that be ok for a red day?

Nandos chicken breast quarter should be ok as long as you take all the skin off, salad is fine but syn any dressing and your sweetcorn will have to be synned as it is not free on red. You could go EE however, then it would be free.

Thanks, I'll do that and leave the sweetcorn as I really fancy a red day today.

I'm a bit down today as it's official weigh in this morning and I've gained 2lb :(

  • Hi everyone,

Right well the wedding was great and went for an EE day after suggestions on here.

For brekkie, I had 2 fried eggs (done in fry lite) baked beans and 3 bacon rashers (also done in fry lite)
Lunch was 350ml skimmed milk (HEa) and 2 weetabix (HEb)
Tea was just a FF yog and some fruit.

Got to wedding and had originally planned to drive so that I couldn't drink but someone else who isn't that fussed bout having a drink offered and my arm got twisted lol
So I managed to resist the buffet with the exception of 1 triangle of a sandwich (which had ham and butter on it) and 1 mini veg spring roll - they hardly had any stuff that was good for SW.
Only slight worry tho is I had like 6 vodkas! I hadn't used up all my syns tho from Thurs or Fri and don't plan to use them up for the rest of the week so hopefully it'll be ok. Had cans of Diet Coke with them as I didn't trust the schooshy gun things incase the gave me fat coke!

Back on to a green day today and prob rest of week (till WI on Wed nite) as I'm not a huge meat fan and love my pasta!

    Morning all.

Liz3y dont worry about your gain, youve had some fantastic losses the last few weeks, as Consultant said, maybe your one of those people who have good losses every two weeks, so im sure youll have a good one next week. You also got to enjoy a night for hubbys birthday, I think its worth it to have the odd night off and enjoy yourself so you dont go mad and totally off plan. The main thing is you got back on plan the next day. Just keep at it and doing what your doing and youll get there. x

Steph - welldone for avoiding the buffet, thats so hard. and six vodkas are only 18 syns? Imagine if youd had six pints of lager (60 syns) or six glasses of wine (36 syns) you did well.

I did have a couple of the kids treats from halloween as I bought loads of sweets and only one kid came to the door. Oh well, I got mainly fun size stuff like Maltesers and twixes so ill check out those for syns and have one for a cuppa each night.

Tonight im having beef stew made in the slow cooker, its on already and smells goood. Have a good day all.

    Hi everyone!
Well Tommorrow is my official start day (i've been keeping mostly to plan but wanted to start properly when I have scales)
I found THESE scales half price in Argos, look pretty good, I just managed to reserve the last ones in my local store, going to go and pick them up first thing after droping DS1 off at school.

I've planned some meals for the week, have got enough in so I dont need to go shopping until Thursday.
    I've so far got.
*Chicken in the slow cooker (either as a roast or with rice and tatties)
    *Sausage with mustard mash
*Salmon steaks with new tatties and veg (might do hollandaise sauce, just going to syn the packet on SW site)
*SW quiche (hoping this will turn out good!)

Not sure what days these meals are going to fall on, well acually I'm having the salmon tonight cos it's gonna go off otherwise!

I think OH and I are over so i'm going to be cooking only for me and the boys, which will be alot easier, Oh is a food snob!

Thanks Nic! It was quite hard when everyone else at my table came back with plates of sausage rolls, pizza and indian snacks! Glad I kept away.
Yeah i know that is true, It could of been worse if I'd of had something like cider and wine.

Changing to an EE day today so that I can have spag bol for tea. Made a pot of homemade veg soup that I've just had for lunch with a slice of bread, a FF yog and fruit for snack.

Anyone on here use Easi Yo yogurt. I have quite a few packs to use up but it seems the strawberry (regular) and raspberry are 3.5 syns per 100g.

I would really like to use these up despite their high syn value but wondered if anyone knows whether 100g = 100 mls or is it more or less?

I would like to mark a container and pour it straight into rather than weighing and then putting in another container if you get my drift.

    NOOOOOOOO!!! ;)

Fat free does not mean they are necessarily syn free!!!! Be careful with own brand. I know some Morrisons and some Tesco's own are ok, but don't just grab the first thing you see - try and check online first ;)
