  • Hi!

what a wonderful, heart warming and terribly british diary!

added to my favourites, and truly a joy to read, you sound like a wonderful hard working and warm mother.

my own mum has moments now where she says she wishes she could have been a better mum to me but its all because we didnt have much money growing up. Its daft, she was a fabulous mum, i enjoyed our holidays to haven and the such so very very much.

    its time and love that matter, in Church a few weeks ago (i go with my mum) the mass was all about generosity, and the priest said something thats so poignant to me i may even add it to my collection of tattoos;

" Generosity is not always material"

a simple phrase that means so much

Hi and Thankyou all for your comments, glad to know i'm not just rambling on to myself:D.

Been to work this morning, kiddies were all very well behaved for a change.
Then went to Tesco and spent £95:eek: if i type it small it might not seem that bad, but in my defence i spent £20 on Lego for ds for christmas, bought 2 boxes of yummy biscuits for prezzies, 4 bottles of wine to put away for christmas. Whilst in Tesco spotted a tv with built in dvd player for £145, dd wants a tv for christmas and would also be part of bday pressie as well, going to think about it.

Came home to find book i'd ordered for fil had arrived from amazon and i had won a rimmel lipgloss, not sure i like the colour, might get dd a little makeup bag and a cheapy nail varnish and eyeshadow and stick the gloss with it as an extra chrissy present.

No bingo win today, 10p and 25p on scratchies.

DD had riding tonight after school, 2 hour of riding and pony club which she really enjoys, she asked if she could have 1 of the special jumpers that the other girls wear, got her one as she very rarely asks for anything bless her, also told me her boots felt tight so looks like she needs a new pair, keeping a eye on some on ebay, she only wears them once a fortnight so not buying new and spending a fortune when they don't get much wear, will also sell her old ones on there.
spends tonight pony club £20 + pony club jumper £17 .

DS also decided to tell me at 8pm just as he is going to bed that he has somehow pulled the velcro bit off his school shoes:mad:,what the hell am i supposed to do at that time. So tommorrow after school going to have to take a trip to clarks to buy new shoes, ok he was going to need new ones soon but i was hoping they would do this half term and would buy in the christmas holidays. Kids can't live with them and can't ebay them:D;).

    I do love him really.

OMG its blowing an absolute hooley outside. Decided not going shoe shopping after school, to cold and windy. Will go on saturday for them, kiddies are going to school in normal clothes tommorrow as its children in need, so ds can wear his trainers.

Nothing exciting so far in the post but need to go to the post office to pick up a parcel:D. No win on bingo this morning, scratchies 10p and 10p.

Have lots of cooking to do after picking kiddies up from school, lasagne for tea and going to make a upside down apple sponge as there is some dodgy looking apples in the fruit bowl that need using, need to bake cakes for kiddies school as they are selling them tommorrow to raise cash for children in need, also need cakes for us, think i might make some garlic bread to go with the lasagne as well:D.

Money wise have spent £13 on school dinners for dd she has them twice a week, ds does'nt have them, he will only eat mummies ham sandwiches, so packed lunch everyday for him.

Managed to wangle a bit of overtime in december at work, just helping with nativity preperations, but it all helps.

Gonna go and sort some bits out to go on eBay, really need to sell some bits, i have some party clothes that can go on that no longer fit, dd has a couple of party dresses as well.

Thanks tootsie, glad your enjoying it, please feel free to post.

Need to go buy batteries was all set for Ebaying and camera has no batteries in it:mad:, got a feeling ds will have pinched them for one of the many toys that need fifty squillion batteries and then run out after half an hour of playing.
  • Hi Miemie, just stumbled across your diary and thought I would pop in and say HI!

I think you and me have alot in common, I cant afford to buy my kids expensive gifts, we dont go on expensive holidays, we dont wear designer clothes, we dont go out for meals (unless we have discount vouchers) but we do make FANTASTIC memories (which I personally think are so much more important than material things)

I invested in camping equipment so we go away most weekends during the summer and I can tell you its the best investment ive ever bought! we also went to Haven (sun newspaper offer and going back again in April next year) and my kids love it. My kids are 20, 17, 13 and 12.

Ive read your DD is after some riding boots, I have size 4 ankle riding boots if your interested, worn by my daughter 3 times then outgrown lol Kids hey!

Anyway carry on with your good work, your a fantastic mum and dont let some stuck up materialistic bimbo tell you otherwise!

Hi dreamy:hello: thats so kind of you regarding the boots, dd is only in a size 13, but thankyou for offering, have you thought of sticking them on eBay.
Speaking of eBay guess who forgot to buy batteries when i went to post office, so thats on hold till tommorrow as i'm not going out again tonight in this weather.

Dreamy we went to Haven a couple of years ago and have been meaning to go back, it was great we spent most of the day in the swimming pool and then the kids were cream crackered in the evening so me and hubby just watched tv and drank wine, we had some good quality time together as a family.

Well so far this evening i have made a lasagne, bread is proving ready to make garlic bread, chocky rocky road cake made and about half eaten:p, fairy cakes for school made just need icing, apple upside down cake made and going in the oven when lasagne goes in,just need to make a cake to take to work tommorrow and then i think i'm done, just call me nigella;):D.

Oh my mystery parcel was a can of fizzy drink to trial for a research company, not very exciting but its been drunk and actually tasted quite nice, altough the claim that it reduces hunger pangs did'nt quite work:rolleyes:, see above.
