Hey Miemie, great to catch up on your diary!
Your frugalness is an inspiration and I mean that - all the baking you're doing and all the other things that help make your days better - loving the freebie washing powder! Always good when these surveys sending through useful items!
I must look more at what DH and I can do to be more 'home-made' food wise! Xmas wise we're being homemade present wise - hampers for friends with sloe gin, cookies and chutney! I hope that for you this Christmas you are turning your skills into presents!
Enjoy the quiche! QBxOfficial DFW Nerd Club #20  Proud To Be Dealing With My DebtsDFW Long Hauler #109

Well done with the homemade gifts, i love sloe gin hic;).
:jHave just booked a weekend away with haven 3 nights in march for £79 for the 4 of us, really excited , it came about as i was looking at the pointins thread and rang up but they had nothing for the £80 offer when i wanted to go, i can only go at certain times as i work in a school. So had a look on the haven website found a great deal at the one near blackpool, has indoor pool with waterslides and i know kiddies will love it and its so nice to get away, its self catering so will take food with me and some vino;).0 -

I like the sound of all the baking too. I've just borrowed some cook books from my Mum - mainly dessert onesso will do some with the kids this weekend.

Have just read your first post & couldn't wait to make a comment (will go back & read the rest in a sec)
From what you've said you are a fantastic hard working mum providing a loving family environment, you've got such valuable skills to pass on to you children which is probably more than a lot of yummy mummies can do!!:T
Tis only natural to wonder how other people fund their lives, but you can put money on a high percentage being hugely in debt and thinking thats normal - doesn't set the best of examples to the next generation does it?
ok, off soapbox now, back to read the rest of your diary for more inspirationI do not make mistakes, I learn lessons.I work to live, not live to work.I love to live & live to love.Good enough is exactly that.0 -
Hi miemie - sorry you've had a rough time with some mum's in the playground. I am a working mum tho and often feel judged by those self same mums. Don't tar us all with the same brush - we all do what we feel we have to do!
