After a successful but store cupboard depleting October I'm upping my budget a little for November, hopefully in preparation for another frugal (groceries wise at least!!) month in December.

Please put me down for £150 in November

    Many thanks :)

    Hi all:j

Well seriously blown the budget - due to two reasons:

    - I didn't enter all my reciepts at the time

    - although daughter is at Uni, she came home & had to do several mega-shops in order that she & flatmates don't starve....ahem:D

So - let's try again, this time WILL DO IT with some to spare, although I do have 2x£5 off a £30 shop at Mr Ms (which Mr Ts also take I think) please put me down for £250 this month thank you:T

Anyhow, have already spent something on an AF order, will look that out & enter it, slaps wrists!

Can I join you this month?

We want to limit ourselves to £350 for the month. From 29th Oct to 28th Nov. To feed 3 adults, two cats and 14 chickens. DD pays for the bunnies so they are not in the budget.

Looking forward to meal planning and getting back on track. We eat well, and due to this board cut our groceries from £600+ per month two years ago to £300, but it has been creeping up and I think we spend too much on meat so this is jusy what we need. I have explained it to Mr Spirit and he is 'on board'.
  • Hi everyone,

I've just joined the site although i've been lurking for a while now!

As this is the first challenge I've joined could you put me down for £400 for November please. This is to feed myself and my wife and our 4 kids! :)
    11k in 2011 - £256.63 / £11,000
    January £10 a day - £256.63 / £310
  • I've decided to join in again. I have to buy a new dishwasher, and would like to pay as much as poss from the monthly housekeeping rather than spend the savings :D.
Hoping to spend only £200 or as near as possible to this amount.
My attempts to empty the freezer have not worked so well in October, so I'll be starting the month with enough meat for at least 10 days, and there's a cupboard full of junky stuff too. I reckon it's doable. As ever, I'm feeding 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, and this is to cover all household grocery stuff including loo rolls and toiletries, cleaning stuff etc.

    It's only a game

Nipped out to Mr S at lunch time to buy a dozen eggs and a packet of crisps but came back with:

bag of 10 wheat crunchies £1.00
    15 eggs £2.39
Youngs fish fillets x 2 £1.99 on BOGOF
    Chicken grills x 2 £2.00
    Sweeties for me:o £1.00

So a grand total of £8.38 spent:o At least the crisps were a bargain as the monster munch I wanted were 54p a bag:eek:

I will need to go again on Sunday for fresh fruit and veg and stock up on ped chum as it is on special offer at the moment. That will be about another £20.00 I should think.

Also spent £1.95 last night in B00ts on some hair stuff for DH.
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75

Made it here at last...I kept gettng side-tracked!

My month doesn't start until Sunday, so I will declare my last month's spend on the October thread.

Helen can you put me down for £400 in November please.

I have decided to include all that I am spending on supplements (for me) and protein drinks (for DS2). I have been ill (bad back as well as lots of digestive problems) for nearly a year now and have at last decided to take a raft of supplements to try and get me back to a better state of health. I will ultimately go for an all-round multi-vitamin-mineral, but at the moment concentrating on the ones I have been lacking in over the past few months. Lots of digestion troubles have meant I have had to avoid various foods too, hence the supplements.

As I am spending about £100 a month on all this stuff  (from FLP, including Aloe Gel drink, which is really helping me), the above figure really reflects quite a drop in monthly GC spending for us. DS1 started Uni at the beginning of October, and I am still finding I am cooking a bit too much at the moment, but left-overs are being frozen, or used in a different guise the next day...so we are doing well...I think!

We consists of myself, DH and DS2 (a strapping 16 year-old diabetic rugby player, who eats more than twice as much as I do!), and our lovely (white) golden retriever. I include food for all of us as well as toiletries and cleaning stuff.

I am also planning on making various edible Christmas pressies, so this could push the spendings up, but we will see. :D

First shop for November successfully completed yesterday with a total spend of £11.81 which included halloween treats. My weekly budget this month is £12 so very pleased with that.

Another good haul on the whoopsied veg so my job this evening is to menu plan around what I have to make sure I use up the less hardy bits first. It'll be watercress soup tonight.

Good to see so many newbies - welcome to you all. I've managed to halve my weekly spend since I started the GC in August, increased the amount of homemade ready meals in the freezer, used up most out of date/short dated storecupboard items and reduced my waste. Hope you all achieve your goals too. Best wishes everyone,
