Thanks elizabunny I'm very excited but I shall be so so glad when this week is over, I have backacke - not serious like yours though, glad yours is getting better - mine is just from lifting too many boxes of books and other assorted treasures
nykmedia I love edam, have done ever since I was a littlie, but have never grated it or baked with it either; I haven't bought any for ages so I'm making a note on my meal plan for edam next week, thanks for the idea! :T
I've been working at the flat today, got lots done and tomorrow I'm finishing packing for the first part of the move on Friday (second part of the move will be the removers bringing the heavy and bigger items in a few days time).
I spent just under 11.00 today on teabags, milk, bread, butter and a packet of crumpets, our local c00p is so expensive so will be getting an online order asap.
After tomorrow I'll be without broadband for a few days, so been looking at dial up connections, any suggestions, please, for a temp dial up that I could use for a few days?... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Yesterday spent £3.50 on drinks with friends but no more groceries.
Cycled to uni today, thus saving myself £3.60. I live at the top of a hill as well so it's a challenge! NSD for me today
Realised just how much I have managed to fit into one freezer drawer so hoping to not go shopping again until I've used most of that up. I have a food mentality that I have to make sure I have loads of tins in the cupboard and food in the freezer 'just in case' but I just end up having loads of food and no space for anything else!December GC £23.43/120 :T
Nationwide Overdraft £1136, Natwest Overdraft £1800(interest free), Natwest Credit Card £155/£350
Aim to clear overdrafts by Summer 2010
Saving for Elective £0 so far!0 -
Hello! first spend of the month £9, lots of loo rolls and a naughty very not OS Curry in a box for OH who had to stay home while i went on my girlie night! Making OH keep track and post on here too (using this log in) as he is being motivated by the promise of a PS3 game with the 'savings' we make
So I'm hoping for a good month!

scotsaver & rosieben thank you for your kind words, but rosie please do take care. I didn't realise what I had done until it was too late and it was from lifting something too heavy. I'm pleased everything is going well for you though.;)
Well I managed to get a few more apples picked and in the freezer, also decided to make another huge pot of Leek Lentil soup as DH really enjoyed the first lot. There should be enough for around 3 days and the Gammon I cooked should make two full meals for both of us with some left over for DH packed lunch tomorrow. Made a small apple crumble for pud. tonight as well.
I must be such a messy cook -had to clean the hob twice today! Anyway at least I did manage another NSD in the end, so that's 4 in a row. I think my halo might slip soon though:p
Have a good evening everyone!Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Gosh I feel like I am really only taking tiny steps compared to all you frugal and thrifty people out there. But I am trying! Some of it is just having the time, what with having two very small kids - eg our closest Adsa is a 40 min car journey away in heavy London traffic whereas the Sbury is a 10 min drive and Tesco a 20 min walk - so no Whoops bread for me! But I did get two Hovis granary loaves for £2 in Tesco today so have stuck one in the freezer. Also bought milk, freezer bags and teabags. That all came to £6.21, hmmm.
HM soup from the freezer for tea tho. And I'm planning starting a rubber chicken tomorrow eve when I have a friend over for dinner.0 -
Another butcher spend today but now hopefully have plenty in the freezer £17.49. Half of this was for my SW approved sausages, come on you red days.
Now over budget and still have 14 days left with fruit, milk and eggs to buy. AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Now hoping to keep it at no more than £2000 -
Why do I love supermarkets so much? I'd rather go grocery shopping that clothes...how sad!
I needed to pop to the shop today (just for a birthday card), but instead of just going to Tesco on my way home, I decided to go over to Asda tonight. I did come home and started to prepare dinner (stirfry) but it didn't go to plan as ended up nibbling some things I bought instead. Doh.
I got some of the Heinz beans that are on offer (4 for £1) as although I rarely eat them, they're handy to have and were cheaper than the cheapest. Also got a few apples that have been talked about on here (3 for 36p! and they're HUGE).
I wasn't doing too badly and was about to pay when my friend phoned, so ended up wandering around talking to her and other things found their way into my trolley! Got 8 packets of super noodles as they're on offer (I know they're crap, but I like them every so often), some meatballs for future meals, stuffing, yogurts, apricots and some other bits.
I then wandered past the bakery as they were reducing things...oh dear. For some reason my brain doesn't register that I live on my own, I have a shoebox size freezer that is pretty much full, yet I still can't resist. So I need to find space for 4 bagels (reduced to 48p) and 4 tiger bread rolls (reduced to 21p)
Twix bars are 20p in Asda...don't ask me how I know that:o
I am going to sit down before the weekend and do a proper meal plan for the next couple/few weeks and see what I can come up with using what I already have. I know it will be cold stirfry for lunch tomorrow as I made it, but was full from eating rubbish!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
