Thought I would post five earlier today, as have MIL coming for tea, so may need a bit of perspective beforehand to help me cope.:)

    1. Really good day on a course, met up with people I hadn't seen in ages.
    2. Made eye contact with a calf in the field, as I was waiting at a junction, a strange but uplifting experience.
    3. DS & DD both seem very happy with life.:j
    4. Got bill for childcare, we owe a lot less than we thought.:D
    5. Sun has shone all day:)

There, that's my perspective, now off to make dinner for everyone.
    Happy thoughts to all.

    My 5 for today:

    1. The sunshine.
    2. A good workout.
    3. Cold, clean water.
    4. HM lasagne for tea.
    5. A good book to curl up with later.

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

PS forgot to add to yesterdays that I finished Nella Last's War - I thoroughly enjoyed it and think I would have liked her.[/QUOTE]
Ladyhawk look out for Nella Last Peace which is also good. Have just discovered there was a third published which I found in the library - Nella Last in the 50s or something.. just about to start that..
    What Would Bill Buchanan Do?
  • Can I join in? I need to do a bit of blessing-counting as I'm in danger of slipping into a bad case of the 'poor me's

    1) Knitting snuggly winter socks in the garden in glorious sunshine.
    2) Getting three duvets, six sheets and six mattress protectors dry on the washing line (yes, that was my laundry load BEFORE even starting on the clothes today :rotfl:)
    3) Leftover spicy bean soup from yesterday to look forward to ... think I might make mashed potato to go with it, as it is now cold and rainy.
    4) ds2, who has been planning extravagant birthday parties/treats for himself for a few months now, finally deciding that what he really really wants for his birthday is to have two friends to tea and to eat fish and chips!
    5) Two more boxes packed as part of the 'we're moving but we don't know when' extravaganza :j

    5 for today (Tuesday).

    1) MrN brought me round a cup of tea first thing. :-)

    2) Did hours and hours of paperwork - checking direct debits, paying bills, form filling, making phone calls.

    3) Had a cup of tea with my dad and brother.

    4) Picked strawberries after school with sons.

    5) Quite a tasty tea. Pie made from the left over chicken and veg from yesterday's roast followed by Eton Mess.

    6) Sons and I walked to the pub - about a 5 mile round trip. And that's our most local pub!

    Evening all

Tealady & Kittikins - what the poor service guy at the garage doesn't know is that I'm a degree qualified mechanical engineer who looks after engines bigger than my house :D I also worked for Ford when I first left school and learnt all the tricks of the trade ;). I can't necessarily fix my own car but I know what's wrong
LittleBrownFrog - Welcome to the thread :)

    1) Lovely weather here in Aberdeen....one of my neighbours even had a sprinkler out on their front lawn  - I didn't even realise they sold them up here :rotfl:
    2) Fire alarm went off this afternoon...got me out in the fresh air
    3) Filling at the dentists.....no injection, no pain....done in 5 minutes and costs a whole £13.44 :)
    4) Nearly finished the work pack from hell....one last push tomorrow
    5) Lovely pair of jeans delivered by Next that fit perfectly :D
    6) Last of the leftover beef stew for dinner....another easy cook night for me

Hopefully you all had a good day

    Evening

    Pleasures for today:
    1. No spend on lunches again today as everyone took a packed lunch with them, am getting back into good habits with this again
    2. Went for a quick 3 mile power walk at lunchtime. Was nice to get out of the office for a while and not be spending money.
    3. Easy dinner of fish fingers and chips at the request of OH and DD. Who am I to argues
    4. Meeting tonight for local Friends of Guiding. Not too many events to help at this year so far.
    5. Popped into small Mr.S on way home just as they were doing final reductions so managed to pick up a few bits very cheaply. So much for trying to empty the freezer :D

Hugs to all who need them

Very full and busy day. It's a pleasure just to reach the end of it and visit you lot in here. :)

    My five for Tuesday:

    1. Waking up way, way, way too early so I got up and got on with a bit of work then went back to bed and slept a bit more but it was lovely to have that little window of peace and quiet very early morning for a change.

    2. An NSD.

    3. Having a full and sorted fridge and fruit bowl following the veggie delivery.

    4. Making eggybread for supper with wilted vegbox spinach, fried vegbox tomatoes and grated cheese on top. It's one of our absolute favourite meals - brilliant for brunches too.

    5. Getting started on a trial piece of quilting using batting that will shrink in the wash. I need to make this test piece and wash it before I make anything seriously important. However, I've deliberately made the piece the size of a pot holder (which we need for our hot-handled saucepans) so it will be turned into one of those - a very OS experiment.

    Sweet dreams
