    5 a day for me..

    1. Watching the Moto2 race on TV. I love the Silverstone circuit and in spite of the rain the racing was incredible.
    2. Going to a barbecue. The company was great, the food great and the weather - wet but great fun.
    3. DH bringing me a cup of tea in bed this morning. :)
    4. Had a break from my diet this weekend so utterly enjoyed a chocolate bar. Back to the grindstone tomorrow!
    5. I've nearly finished a pot of moisturiser - that'll be the first one I've ever finished!

    Have a nice evening, everyone.

well done on your moonwalk ladyhawk!
and newlywed one of the (many) things on our list of 'Things we must eat' when we come home for flying visit in September is M&S cakes.....especially their apricot swiss roll! .....however, it is an extensive list!!

Well it is now very early Monday morning....my son's 16th birthday.....not that anyone else will be up for ages. I am glad it's a public holiday & we have no work or school to go to.
The internet is obviously an early riser like me & does not do well later in the day as I could not get on computer
last night & in the end decided to switch off & walk away, rather than throw it out of window or stamp up & down on it!

    So Sundays pleasures!
1.another early morning stretch of time to myself. It is nice to have this couple of hours before anyone else is up just for me! It was very foggy (have never seen Australian fog before.....but just the same as back home!)

2.Made a birthday cake & some cupcakes ,still to be iced .

3.collected sons gift ,which is a new to him, kayak plus accessories. Gave him it a day early so he could get the use out of it!

4.DD1 made lentil soup and that went into flasks & few nice things went into picnic bag & off we went WELL wrapped up to the beach!

5.Had a lovely afternoon, sitting like dafties on deckchairs all wrapped up with hats & gloves on! The sun was shining ,the sea was blue but so were we! Was freezing! However, new kayak was christened & boys had fun. I caught up on some diary & journal writing, DD1 read a book & DD2 made sandcastles!

6.2 wee pugs came & pinched the last 2 cakes! Owner (pathetically!) calling them & oh,don't do that dogs.....as she kept walking & they kept eating!

7.Fish & chips for tea! And a drive home along the coast as sun was setting and then through the city, took much longer but was a much nicer view!

Hello, this is my first 5 in a while, but I have been lurking. Hugs to everyone who needs them.

    1) Making gingerbread biscuits for the first time since I was about 12, and cooked them with my grandmother. I don't know why, but i'd got it into my head it was too hard. They turned out lovely!
    2) Meeting up with a friend for a catch-up.
    3) Going to co-op for milk, and coming back with a whole bunch of 20p bargains for the freezer.
    4) Included in the 20p bargains was 1 bunch lillies, and one of dark pink roses, which are now on the mantle shelf, I love flowers, but they are too expensive to be anything but a treat, but at 20P I couldn't resist!
    5) Starting to think about crafting Xmas pressies (its the weather!)

Well it seems i did 2 for yesterday - and they were a bit different! :rotfl:

But i am still doing todays! Despite the carp weather i've still found something!

    1. Made weetabix cake and bread pudding tonight using up stuff from store cupboard
    2. Got a couple of bargains in homebase with the 20% off voucher.
    3. loads of rain so i don't have to do watering (got to look on the bright side)
    4. OH cooked the most amazing roast chicken - haven't tasted anything like it in a long while.
    5. Listening to my teenage kids playing a game together for the first time in yonks.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening all.

    My five for Sunday:

    1. Driving DS1 into town relatively early only to discover that his environmental work party had been cancelled due to the weather so we came home again. It meant I was up and dressed earlier than I would have been otherwise so I got more done than planned.

    2. Starting on the kitchen cupboards. I'm getting all the dry goods into jars and it's already looking so beautiful. I keep opening the cupboards to look and be pleased. :D

    3. Family gathering this afternoon at my parents' - was good to see all the grandchildren playing together and really enjoying each other's company.

    4. My mum unexpectedly returning £10 I'd forgotten about from when I'd topped up her mobile at a cashpoint - actually I'd assumed it was a gift at the time. I wasn't going to complain about having that gift returned though!

    5. Lovely eating-up-bits sort of lunch with yesterday's left over spuds fried, humous and pitta and chunks of veggies for dipping.

    Sweet dreams

Ladyhawk and Tealady - I'd love to do a walk but can't walk very far due to my frailties, an old crock at 40 :( I'll be a cheerleader instead :)

Hugs Reverbe, sorry to hear of your loss. Take care of yourself xx

Frith - grrr to MrN's sons, how dare they be so aggressive :(

    Mine for recent days.....

    1. OH, DD and I have been a happy family for 4 days as he came and stayed with us :)
    2. Bought DD some new trainers using a voucher :)
    3. Free parking on shoe shopping trip :)
    4. School fete was good fun, even though the heavens opened 3 times and threatened to halt play.....hopefully we will have done quite well still
    5. Cooked a new recipe, both a meaty and veggie version at the same time in different pots and all of us enjoyed it
    6. Lovely friend stayed for dinner, wine and good chats after the fete
    7. Far too much scrummy food at a friend's son's birthday party - must stop messing about and get back on track with food again!!
    8. I bought some great cookbooks at school fete - a collection of WW ones and another more glamorous one
    9. Did a Reverbe and found 5p the other day :)
    10. Did 2 or 3 surveys for LVs the other day, so that's £8 or £12 to come in to swell the coffers, yippee!

    Evening,

Ladyhawk - Well done on the Moonwalk. I have already signed up for the Sunwalk, I went for the middle finishing time so would not get caught up in all the main pack at the back.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. 6 mile walk in Virginia Water this morning, even in the rain is a beautiful park.
    2. Shopping done in Tesco and came in under budget, helped by some well timed money off vouchers in the post.
    3. Yummy RTC doughnut with a cup of tea made by DD when finally sat down
    4. Bit of a snooze this afternoon
    5. Chilli for dinner which everyone enjoyed

Hugs to all who need them.

    5 for today (Sunday).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Went to Sainsburys. Boys have decided they do not want cooked school lunches as they have to stay in the hall to eat them. If they have sandwiches they can go outside and eat them on the field. So we got ham, rolls, cherries, grapes etc.

    3) Boys quite happy today, playing and making a massive picture from lots of pieces of A3 stuck together.

    4) Got lots of housework done - 3 loads of washing, changed my bed, tidied and cleaned the bathroom.

    5) My school friend came round and has not long gone.

    6) MrN came round to talk about things. We are not very good at that but managed 2 hours! Things are considerably less shaky than they were. :-) Hopefully he'll pop round in a minute for a cup of tea.

    Think that's about it.

Great Tealady - now I just need to get round to signing up. Not to worry Kittikins about not being about to join us... I am sure you will be there in spirit if not in body.

    1) NSD - though I may buy my brother's birthday present on line later on. But I will be using my amazzon vouchers so that won't count

    2) Left the office just after 6pm so got home in time to mow the lawn and pot out some seedlings. I also planted some nasturtium, stocks and spinach seeds.

    3) Got a nice letter from the local women's refuge who I donated loads of samples from work to. They sent me their brochure as well but I couldn't really read it because it made me want to cry. It reminded me that my life has been very priviledged.

    4) My gorgeous kitkat came out into the garden for a cuddle while I was trying do the seedlings

    5) Got a load of washing done... which has made a small dent in the clothes mountain that needs washing. Slovenly hussy!!!

    Night all. Sleep well

    L

PS forgot to add to yesterdays that I finished Nella Last's War - I thoroughly enjoyed it and think I would have liked her.
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
